I use AOL 8.0 since it's free* (I don't pay for it) and lately, I've been getting prompts asking if I want to stay online or not. I check preferences but didn't see anything that does away with this. Anyone know of a way?

I thought this was just one of the many reasons why AOL sucks?

I think it is dependant on the actual server you end up dialing into.

Most of the time I can idle for as long as I want and not be kicked off. I've left my computer dialed into AOL for two days straight before while I wasn't using it. Other times, Even if I'm in IRC, if my computer is idle, it'll kick me off for inactivity.

Try connecting to a different access number.

I was in the Virgin Islands once. I met a girl, we ate lobster, drank piƱa coladas. At sunset, we made love like sea otters. That was a pretty good day. Why couldn't I get that day over, and over?

That's why I quit using AOL. One day, you could stay connected for 17 hours, the next day, it would kick you off 10 minutes after connecting.
