has anyone else watched this show on Cartoon network? Seiriously I don't think that this show takes itself seriously. That or the translator doesn't like the show and decided to butcher the dialogue. At one point a character stated she had gone blind because the artist forgot to draw her eyes. Dialogue is rediculous, its actually causing me to enjoy show its so bad. I'm honestly waiting for them to just come out and say: "Anime sucks, why are you watching this?"

Because it doesn't, Mr. Redundancy.
It's simply a knock-off to try and squeeze some of the juice out of the Yu-Gi-Oh! craze and promote Wizards' card game of the same name.
I watched an episode of that the other day, I'd swear they were making shit up as they went along.
It's not something people hear about.

Sean had this to say about Optimus Prime:

Shit, dude, I think that, too. And I actually play the card game.

Verily, Sean doth proclaim:
I don't think Yu-Gi-Oh takes itself seriously, either.I watched an episode of that the other day, I'd swear they were making shit up as they went along.
"Hah, my Ultimate Rage Hunger Venom Plague Striker will destroy all of your monsters in one attack!"
"Hah, but what you didn't know was my Dark Evil Shadow Nether Necromancer gets double his attack points when you have 3 cards turned sideways and one upside down in play and gets to attack you right away, thus KILLING YOU!"
"NNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"
I sometimes turn the show on just for a good laugh
quote:I laughed too hard at that, because it's so true.
This insanity brought to you by Vorago:
"Hah, my Ultimate Rage Hunger Venom Plague Striker will destroy all of your monsters in one attack!"

Not to mention the horrible acting on top of the horrible dialogue!

Maybe it's me, Gains. But a plot revolving around a commercially produced Card Game being the deciding factor of salvation/apocolypse sounds really dumb regardless of what format it's produced in.
*shrugs* Within the first 7 issues, they play the card game maybe twice. And it's not nearly as dramatized when they do. It gets more focused on the cards after the first 7 though, I heard.
It was pretty cool to see Yugi turn all evil and light somebody on fire though.
And I haven't seen anything past the first story arc of the anime. I don't know how lame it's gotten. I heard it's pretty bad now though. It used to be just a battling for competiton sort of deal. With daaaark magic involved. Mr. Gainsborough fucked around with this message on 09-03-2005 at 02:09 AM.
When the creator introduced the card game, they insisted on making it into an actual game. This is why they it always seems like they are making up the rules as the go along because at first the creator was.
