Is this any good? Blockbuster seems ot have the entire series and I've heard some good things about it in the past. I'm wondering if it is worth renting the entire series over the next couple weeks (gogo movie pass).

Thanks in advance duders.

I've heard if you like cars, it's ok because that's what it's about. Cars and car stuff.

If you don't like cars, it sucks pretty bad.

The series is predominately about Drift Racing ("Dorifto" in Japan), and how one young kid is a natural at it..

Was a good series, with well drawn action scenes, IMHO

"Inertial drift!? IT CAN'T BE!"

We watched part of an episode and it was kind of funny.

It's a pretty good anime. I don't like cars very much, and I still don't, but Initial D is my favorite anime series. I would highly suggest watching it. This is the only anime, AFAIK, that could actually happen in the real world. Meaning, there's no magic, no science fiction, no giant robots or monsters, no ninjas, no nothing. It's VERY refreshing.

And, sure enough, his avatar is from Initial D.

Bzzt! Took me three seconds to go "Azumanga Daioh!" in my head. Which is just kids in school being funny.

Yeah, because you often have schoolgirls using their pigtails to fly, and their parents being huge stuffed cats.

In dreams and daydreams, sure, why not?

But are they detachable? If so, I want pictures!

I knew a few Koreans who loved it to death. They played this Initial D racing game all the time and part of the game is that you apparently have a cup of water in your cup holder of your car. Whenever you spill a drop, you lose speed (and honor). All this racing excitement is punctuated by your opponents screaming at you in Japanese and making faces while you're driving. Apparently some pretty heavy drama goes on during these race conversations. The game was an import, as were the people playing it, so I have no idea what was going on, but I do know this one guy spilled a whole bunch of water and he got totally burned by his friends.

There's plenty of series that could happen in the real world. Touch popped into my head instantly as a good series that could happen in the real world. I could probably name a dozen other decent ones easily enough, and I bet Gains could do it more easily than I.

I just admitted to liking Touch. I think I should be ashamed of myself.

Yeah, uh...I watch/read girly soap opera type anime/manga.

Real life stuff is what it's made out of!

(Marmalade Boy, Sensei no Ojikan, Aishiteru ze Baby, Maria-sama ga Miteru, I could go on...and on...and on...)
