So, last week I picked up some seed beads, bicon crystals, findings, etc. and have started to create my own beaded jewelry. (since I work at Michaels, I get discounts.. But It's still SUPER expensive, so I'm going to buy stuff online now.. I hope)...
Anyways, these are what I've created so far.. All are made from one piece of 30lb fishing line that has been weaved back and forth to create the designs.
My first. "Viridian Lotus". The pattern is called "Lotus". I followed it, since it was my first attempt. Comes with earrings.
"Azure Lace" my second attempt that drove me insane.. Took about 8 hours over two days.. This was based off of a pre-made pattern.
"Black Lotus" One I made for my sister. It features a swarsoki crystal in the middle dangle.
"Black Scalloped" my own design. Made with black iris seed beads.
"Sea Green Glass" a more casual peice with a toggle clasp to be worn in front. Made with frosted glass beads and metal spacers. I actually love this one. My sister made me make her one identical to it.
"Citris Fringe" my own design. I made matching earrings too... This one is done with cheap thread because the fishing line looked back through it.. I might re-do it with some Beadalon.
And finally "Crystal Star" my own creation again. Features a centre nouveau-esq metal pendant with rinestone and bicon crystal drop.
I'm having SOOO much fun making these.
Leave me and my neardy hobby alone.

Kaiote obviously shouldn't have said:
I can make chainmail that small.
I can't be bothered with chainmail jewelry.. I suck at getting jump rings to connect properly as it is...

Kaiote had this to say about Matthew Broderick:
I cant stand working with beads.. little fuckers roll all over the damn place. My dinky little rings dont roll, they just sit all flat..
And bend super-easily the wrong way.. No way. Beads for me. Plus they are colourful.
See, the trick is, you make your own rings, then they dont bend wrong.

Kaiote spewed forth this undeniable truth:
bead lover propaganda.See, the trick is, you make your own rings, then they dont bend wrong.
Well, that just takes too much work.. I'm not very good at bending metal yet.. I have trouble turning the ends of my straight pins into loops.
Double round nose pliers make looping pins a breeze.

Kaiote probably says this to all the girls:
sure you have the proper tools?Double round nose pliers make looping pins a breeze.
I have needle nose pliers and the ones that bend down. o.o; Like an "L"ish shape..
two otter pelts, and a snickers bar..

How.... Kaiote.... uughhhhhh:
When you go to work, go look at the wire stuff, and you can find these double rounds.. they're like 3 bucks in american, so in canadian thats like..two otter pelts, and a snickers bar..
At Michaels that equals $20 bucks.
or, just like, grab a set of all of them, and huck them in the trash bin, and return at midnight to collect yer booty.

Ares had this to say about Reading Rainbow:
I've decided that since my hobby (drawing) is quickly becoming a career in which I not only draw for pleasure, but for profit and education, I need a new hobby.[/IMG]
That's exactly why I don't force myself to draw more. I like my hobby as a hobby. Not as a jobby job. What would I do for a hobby then?
Anyways, I like the necklaces.

Xyrra said this about your mom:
Wow, those are really very pretty Ares! I admire the patience you have with these sorts of things.
That's Xryrra.. The only time I get frustrated is when the line tangles and then gets worse when I try to un-tangle it. x.x
