Well, this year, Cyn earned a reward for a 600 Minute reading award, and they gave her a free ticket to Six Flags. So of course we had to find a way to go cause she worked really hard to earn it, and she was old enough and tall enough to actually DO stuff there. (To our surprise so was Ravyn, they could do almost everything, Cyn could even ride one of the nations largest Rollercoasters which is here in Dallas, the Titan.) So we all went, the very first time for the girls. It was a blast, and a ton of fun... In fact it felt more fun taking MY kids than it did going when I was a kid.

Anyway, it was great. First thing in the gates, Cyn made a B-Line for the largest rollercoaster in the park, and in the nation actually, the Titan. This thing is a fucking monster, I swear to god I felt like I was going to die, and I've been on coasters my whole life. The first drop alone feels like it's going to kill you. Cyn however, was expressionless, throughout the entire ride until the end, and then she just started bouncing off the walls and wanting to go again.

Ravyn we were afraid was going to be terrified to do anything or would whine all day, she's really prissy. She shocked the hell out of us (Again). We started out small, hitting the kiddie rides because we thought they'd be fun for her, and they were, but she wasn't overly excited... So we gradually moved up. More and more thrilling. We eventually got to the cliffhanger, which we were skeptical about. This is the tower ride that takes you up like 4 stories and then just drops you strait down in a big box. My sister wet herself on this ride when she was a teenager, and it always gets me, so we worried about Ravyn. Without need. She had this permanent full grin PLASTERED to her face the entire time. In fact, her only responce was, "COOL! We went BACKWARDS!" because it drops you backwards when it takes you back up to the loading the lines.

Eventually we moved on to the rollercoasters, starting with the baby coasters, which didn't really amuse her at all... So me, being the loving and caring daddy I am, took her on the fastest, biggest rollercoaster than her 42" could ride... Called the Shockwave. It's the fastest rollercoaster in the part, and the only coaster with consecutive inverted loops, massive G's. This is big stuff even for an adult...I just wanted to see her face. Sadly, she loved it... I mean REALLY loved it, she didn't stop talking about it alll day long. "I wanna go on the looptyloops again, I wanna go on the looptyloops." Of course we let her ride again.

So, now I have pictures. Unfortunately they all suck, and nothing really exciting cause I was too afraid to bring the camera out on the big rides for fear Id drop it (And on most of them you couldn't bring camera's on anyway, which sucked) and I couldn't afford a $14 picture that the park takes from the rides... Such a rip off.

Anyways.

The conquistador is a big boat that goes back and forth like a swing going higher and higher, like a pendulum. Heavy G's and nice queasy stomach machine.

This is one of those superfast merry-go-round type deals that spind you around really fast and hard, the puke machines basically.

This one makes me fear when the turn 16... These cars are on tracks, but you still drive them. Controlling acceleration, and breaking and the like, and even though there is a rail, you can still stear a good 4 feet in either direction... This is what pictures look like when your 8 year old is at the wheel.

Cheesy Train ride, but they enjoyed it.

He's not an old guy in the park... He's a 16-18 year old hotty girl walking around in a tux top and black miniskirt... With the glasses and red bow tie. I kid you not. She was the escort to all the Loony Tunes actors. There were several of them dressed up like the old guy all day long.

Batman, Mr. Freeze, and Superman Tower of Power were the only three rides they couldn't ride. Have to be 54" cause they are the no seater ones with the shoulder harnesses. Whatever they are called. The ones where you feet hang free.

So you have to be taller to ride them.

Tower of Power scares the shit out of me. I am hesitant to try it, as I dunno if I can handle it in my old age.

The High Roller is just an average rollercoaster. Except... it's 1000 feet in the air.

Insanity is just... well, insane. It's an arm/crane thing that extends like 70 feet over the edge of the tower. It spins you around the tip of the tower at 3 G's, causing you to spin around the tower at a 90 degree angle, looking straight down 1,400 feet to the ground.

The Superman roller coaster at Six Flags Great America(Chicago) is awesome. When you get it in, it is similar to Batman and other hang downs, but then you rotate 90 degrees so your are facing the ground. We got in the front spot because it was a slow day and it was absolutely awesome. You really don't see the track. And the wind you get in the front but not the other spots helps make it.

Edit: and Vallo needs to shrink his sig.

True, but Superman Tower of Power is Six Flags over Texas only. Which is why I said what I did. This Superman ride is NOT the coaster.

In fact, the Batman ride you are refering to is not the same one we have here.

The only other Superman rides are Coaster types, and one other type. Tower of Power though is unique to Dallas, and new to Six Flags in general.

Superman Tower of Power is a 400' Crate Drop strait down. That bounces you up and down a few times like a Bungie on a rail, and then, does the full drop. It's freakin nuts. Most Parks have a Cliffhanger type deal, which is the one where 4 people sit in a box and get taken strait up a tower and then dropped strait down. It's like those, only the tallest one of that type is only 150 feet... Tower of Power is almost 3 times that high, and majorly nasty. You'd have to see it in action.

Anyway, Theme parks dont have all the same rides either. Some are the same (Very few) others are similar, others still are unique to the park.

For instance, here in Dallas we have the Conquistador which is the giant boat that goes back and forth really high with the big G's and whatnot. In Houston, however, at Astroworld Six Flags, it is a space shuttle, that not only goes back and forth really high and fast like the conquistador with the massive G's it also goes all the way over coming back down and going backwards.

The one in Jersey has both. The superman ride I belive is one with a magnetic catapult, or was that the second batman one? Been a while, either way It's like waiting 3 hours to go on a 2 minute ride.
