How many hours do you work a day/week? What do you do in your free time? What are your goals and ambitions? Pleas place this in context with age and years in the workforce.

I've been doing Office Admin kinda stuff for 13 years now, I'm currently on a long-term temp (hopefully to perm) assignment with a clinical research firm. They pay me for exactly 37.5 hours a week, though I'm usually there closer to 40.
My goals and ambitions still change on a weekly basis, all I know is that I need to become monstrously sucessful in something or another. There's still time. Recently entertained ideas for careers (instead of jobs): Chef, Stage Design, Linguistics, Party planner... oh, and of course... professional student. I'm your classic dilettante type of person.
In my free time, I read, game, cook, shop, clean, pay bills, and pretty much do everything to keep a household running in any sort of efficient manner. Whee.
I started working at a movie theater pulling in 15-25 hours a week, but that was during school.
I'm working towards becoming a civil lawyer as that is what I think really interests me as far as a career goes. I'm going to be attending ASU for the next 4 or morish years to get a degree in Computer Systems Engineering, then off to law school I go. I'd like to become an assistant manager in my company for the duration of school though. But management in the company is not a long term goal for me, as starting salary is only 24k for management, and the regional manager only makes like 37k. Owning a chain like that wouldn't be bad, but the management ranks are poop.
I spend much of my free time going around to play in local Magic the Gathering tourneys where I do half decent. I usually walk away with a top 4 spot, or better in 12 man tourneys. The rest of the time I spend bumming around on my computers or watching some of my DVDs. I play alot of Counter Strike Source, and I've gotten atticted to Eve Online again.
On top of that I'm going to start my job back up next week in the school's Independent Learning Center (computer lab). That'll tack on an additional 20-26 hours a week depending on whether i need to work fridays as well.
I'm making $8 an hour in my current job and have no desire to move from it since about 70% of my work hours are idle time that's perfect for studying or playing Fallout 2. I've been working at the campus in either my current job or in a public relations type job since i started there three years ago.
I'm 19 and am working towards a double major at UCSD. One in Applied Math in Physics and the other in Physics with an emphasis on Astrophysics. Eventual goal is to go to Grad School for either Astrophysics or Astronomy.
In my free time I game, sleep, and play a little DDR for the excercise.
I already got one goal, the house we're living in. And while forensics will be my main job, someday I'd like to write re-told fairy tales.
I've been working in some manner since I was 15 Lyinar Ka`Bael fucked around with this message on 06-18-2005 at 02:21 PM.

In my free time I masturbate, game, and read a book that supposedly tells me what I need to know for the A+ certification exam. Sometimes I do all three at once.
Well one day I hope to be taken off to DeVry and get me one of them higher edumucations involving computers and/or business.
I also allow the internet to be a minor distraction.
I do a bit of tutoring as a financial boost, when I can find the time. $20/h, quite decent. Finding the time has been rare recently, though. It's generally around 2-4 hours, because I really have very little time.
As for my goals, my academic goals are to excel in the short term, to graduate in two years time with a first class honours, then go straight to either a PhD in something biotech/biochem/molecular biology, or perhaps to medical school, and then afterwards go for a more medical doctorate. Either way, or even by the various contingencies that will get me there by less direct methods, you'll all be calling me Dr. before I'm 30, and that's not negotiable. After that, professional studenthood.
As for my career, I refuse to work in any profession in which there is only activity, rather than achievement. I will only settle for something in which I can constantly excel, because I thrive on it. I have a while to go before I really need worry about it, however.
My personal goals are a bit more personal.
Suffice it to say that I'm quite an ambitious person, and I've had the sort of start which puts very few obstacles between me and my goals, except for some hard slog, anyway. Pvednes fucked around with this message on 06-18-2005 at 02:29 PM.

The Total Seminars book really helped me get my certification.
I currently go to school from 6pm to 11pm Monday through Thursday, and I spend 3 or 4 hours a day searching through job listings and applying in hopes of nailing a 40 hour a week job. My free time is spent being bored and hopping around the games I have installed until I find the one that Ill play for a few hours that day. After I graduate I intend to go to another school for Radio Broadcasting in order to be a radio DJ.
My goals/ambitions include returning back to school this fall (might have to wait, depending on financial aid crap) to pursue a degree in journalism (Fal is my mentor!). I would also like to move out of my mom's house and into a place of my own, but we're not being rushed out right now, and it's really not too bad. Oh yeah, I also want to get Chase into pre-school this fall (we already picked out the school).
In my free time I read, watch tv, play online, spend lots of quality time with my babycakes, and run errands. I should be using my free time this weekend to paint my room, too, heh.

Heh I got the A+ travel guide from them.

Mike Meyers is a big ass doofus, but his book really helped.
Wow, I thought he was like 25.
Uh, right now, I don't work. I pretty much spend time doing various errands, playing games, Tae Kwon Do, getting involved in my church, reading the Bible, and all other sorts of things.
My goal right now is to use this leisure time (my last real set of it) effectively.

Currently I work at Michaels as a Office Specialist and General Arts Associated. I work 8-25 hours a week depending on my schedule (right now I'm filling in for the other Office Specialist, which means I'm working week days 7am-12pm wed-sun) and I work 4-6 hours a day (basically I go home when I'm done). I've been at Michaels for almost a year (I have my year review the 8th of August) and I'm 20.
I've only been in the work force for 3 years my previous job as you all remember, was at the Pita restaurant. Before that I was babysitting.
In my free time I draw. OMG shock. And my goals is to become an illustrator and hopefully get into the video game character design. That would be awesome.. If not, freelance work. My current goal is to survive these last 3 years and get my degree in design.
I'm actually an aspiring Actor/Model. I'm represented by an Agency out of Omaha and am going to Orlando at the end of July for a week for a Modeling/Acting competition where I have been asked by some reputable agents and designers to sit down and talk with them regarding doing some modeling and/or acting work on movies, TV, Runway or Print.
My ultimate goal is to make movies. But I figure being in them or modeling (Like Kutcher) can give me a break into the industry.
I spend my free time gaming, goofing off somewhere, reading up on new things in the industry or thinking about directions I want to take the current project I am working on.
My goal is to work on some major service platform. I can't really say that I want to be a game developer anymore and if I did I'd want to work more with the back-end stuff as opposed to the client side of things. I'd also like to get my CS degree at some point.
23 and have been in the industry for 6 years. Pesco fucked around with this message on 06-18-2005 at 07:02 PM.
I work evenings 3-11 most of the time, so I've got pretty much all morning as free time. I spend it gaming, doing random errands, or hanging out with whichever friend isn't working.
My goal is to get a permanant position in custodial within the next year. Once I do that I'll be looking at doing some schooling, and trying to get into the tech department of the school board.
I'm 21 and have been working since I was 16. Caid '5 Fists' Berrit fucked around with this message on 06-18-2005 at 07:19 PM.
I'm also doing some minor Linux consulting over the summer for a professor I know.
In my free time, I sit around my room, fiddle with my Linux laptop and play with various strange programming languages (lately, Haskell), and make half-assed attempts to play games. I'll probably resub to DAoC for the new server they're putting up this summer, since WoW is boring the shit out of me lately.
At the moment, my personal goals are mainly to get my degree and achieve a modicum of success in the real world. Theoretically, I'll be Designing Cool Stuff and Writing Neat Software someday, but that remains to be seen.
