I have reached my first real goal since having my surgery (and it only took 10 months!). I am now officially down 252 pounds.

I had hit a plateau there for a month where I didn't lose a thing (but on the positive side, I didn't gain either) then all of a sudden I dropped 12 pounds in two weeks. I'm back to losing 2-5 pounds a week again so I am relieved. I'd like to lose at least another hundred; then I'll be extremely satisfied.

So yeah, go me

I had gastric bypass surgery.

See, they're watching my thyroid because I've had borderline problems with it since I was 20, but not enough to be put on meds.

Congrats to your sister

She had the barrierbionicle surgery. Where they send little lego men into your torso cavity to turn your stomach into a pouch, which you will then refer to for months afterwards.

Next up: MRI for the Jaja's braen.

I've been told that my thyroid is 'inactive'. However after almost 2 years of medication there was 0 change in my physical state. However my mental state changed WAY too much for me to want to stay on the crap. Suicidal depression is NOT an acceptable side effect.

My sister is happy and she looks alot better. She was 5ft and a bit over 300 lbs I think last I heard she was about 190 or so. Losing the weight revealed she had a lump in her neck. So she needs surgery to remove it. Before everyone just thought it was fat.

I'm down to 254 from 302 last July. My plan of, "Eat less and move more" is working pretty well. Not anywhere near as dramatic of weight loss, but I've been doing a steady five pounds a month and I'm happy with that.

We are not that close and she lives a hour away. Since she has lost the weight she is spending alot of time dating so I cant even get her on the phone to see whats going on.

I cut out the carbs and lost 30 lbs but I have hit a plat and unless I exersise or somthing I wont be losing any more I dont think.

Looking great Jaja! AND HAPPY BIRTHDAY (My birthday was yesterday)

I really need to find a before and after picture of my buddy who was 427 lbs before his gastric bypass. He's down to like 230 lbs after a year and a half. His pouch will now hold an entire meal but he still has to be careful what he eats and still sometimes he'll eat the wrong thing without knowing it and his body will rebel for a day or two. But the benefits have been HUGE for him. He's dating just about the prettiest English teacher I ever have seen. She's 8 years older than him, (he's 22) so we tease him a bit about his "Sugar Momma"

Not only do I have a neck again, but I have a collarbone, which is really weird to feel! And shoulders. My shoulders are really small now.

As for all of the extra energy, I do enjoy going out and about a lot, chasing Chase around. All stuff I couldn't do because I was tired or hurting beforehand.

Happy belated birthday Kag! I meant to start a thread for you yesterday but I was running around like a chicken with no head, oy.

I still have to be careful, too. And it's funny that things that were fine a couple months ago just don't sit well with me anymore. Like poached eggs. Actually, I can only tolerate eggs if they're like deviled or in egg salad. And lettuce is a big no-no too it seems (and of course I crave salad).

And why is it that all these guys who have gastric bypass surgery get cute girls but the girls can't get any guys?!

i used to weigh around 200 pounds last summer, but i started a urban sport called parkour, the principles of it are basically, no matter whats in your way, buildings, walls, gaps, railings, getting over them as smothly and as fast as you can, its really lame to describe it you actually need to see it, i think thats the greatest thing to do, i lost 20 pounds but gained alot of muscle. and i know how to run away now. so yeah thats what got me in shape and lost my chunkyness.
as for the surgery im not sure how good it works, but from what ive herad that works wondfers, but for the people who arent that big and just want to lose around 20 or 30 id say take up pk!

I hope you don't fall into the category of those people who jump between parking garage roofs?

PS: Before anybody hangs you for it, improve your grammar (spelling is mostly fine but for the love of God, learn to capitalize). Thankee ^.^

um, yeah I do jump off roofs, but not stupidly far drops, I know what I can handle, nothing farther than 14 feet. As for the really good people, they can jump across buildings. I'm nowhere near that skilled yet.

I bring it up because of this discussion just a few threads down: Injuries from jumping across 8 story tall garages.

And I usually just bite my tongue and stay quiet when someone isn't that great at grammar but we also have a few more vocal people round here that won't be so nice. Trying to save you the headache of listening to them down the road.
