I feel sad to say it, but Mogray lives no more. I've closed my WoW account as of today. Why? Well after you reach the highest level, you raid the most epic dungeon and you get your best gear, you are left with nothing else to do. Funny thing is I kept hoping that the honor system would reawaken my love for the game, but it has only left me wanting. the way its set up seems pointless to me, only about 10% of the people on any given server will reach the highest rank, because the point system is on somewhat of a curve(from my understanding).

Anyways, now I must find something else to piddle my time away with. As of late I've been playing NWN again, but still I can only do that so much. So now I'm left with a few choices: Re-activate one of my old MMO accounts (I have DAoC, SWG, EQ, and CoH), or get something new. Any suggestions at all?

I second Guild Wars. It's probably the most fun I've had in an online game since UO.

Another fun note is that my Xbox is breaking down now. My brother has offered to buy it off me for $100. Now if I do that should I fork out the extra cash to buy an PS2 again or should I put it towards a DVD player.

I used to own a PS2 but it started breaking down so I traded it in for a Xbox, now the Xbox is breaking down. Oh what a vicous cycle!

Yeah, but PvP just isn't fun. I mean all it is who has the bigger Zerg, and that isn't that fun. I mean okay yeah DAoC was like that too, but at least the rewards were scaled to it. I mean you go on a raid and you can kill 300 people and only make 500 points.

I'd rather wait awhile and see if WoW improves itself, eventually I will rejoin.

If you play Alliance, it's about who has the bigger zerg, because the Alliance has no concept of strategy, courage or skill. All that matters to an Alliance is numbers.

Don't try convincing me otherwise. I've been on both Horde and Alliance raids. Here's my two experiences:

Horde raid: Outnumbered, outlevelled, we charge anyways and the Alliance breaks and runs.

Alliance raid: (actual quote): "We'll run when more of them show up."

So if you play Alliance, be a man and get off Easy Mode. If you play Horde, find a better server. I've never had anything but fun on PvP.

The Zerging is not limited to Alliance its all abou the guild/mind sets of people on the Server. You come to my server and Horde guilds like Digital Marines, JUICE(though they left), and Epoch spend all day running around is 20-40man raid groups ganking any alliance people they can find(running if they get out numbered). There are alliance guilds that do the same on my server, such as Working as Intended and Dread.

Though there are still guilds with a bit of honor and Decency that I would group with and fight with such as Impervious, and Nightmare Inc. On the horde I managed to make friends with some people from Purge and Domain of Pain simply because we would always 5v5 them.

Saying that all people from Alliance are zergers is like me saying that only noobs play Horde. And yeah I have played on both sides, I do have a lvl 34 Orc Hunter, who is quite fun to one man PvP with.

I like making rogues think they can take me away from the pack, then CoEx kiting them to death. Poor bastards never get a stab in.

But yes, I've seen the same happen. Though there are a few hardcore (Re: Paladins with invul shield who fear nothing) PvPers on alliance side. We usually have a good tussle with them before a random 60 comes out and informs TBW, Unnamed or whatever and 60 extra people show up. At which point we open a portal to org/UC and simply leave.

It's sad though. People still think that killing guards nets honorable kills. I'd wager that alliance has about 20x the amount of dishonorable kills that horde does from the obliteration of Hammerfall and TM and STP. :/

Yeah, UO was a hoot! I so enjoyed getting ganked every time I took two steps out of town.

The only thing UO accomplished, was to prove that, yes, the bad guys are much more organized than the good guys, and ensure no one else ever adopted the stupid notion that players could police themselves in terms of eliminating griefers.

Yeah, UO sucked, although I liked the tradeskills and other stuff. ;p

Parcelan, zerging isn't limited to a side. It just happens that on most servers, alliance way outnumbers horde, so they CAN do that. (Not on Sargeras! Woot!)

I know how zerging is really lame, but, it's still a tactic, and it's a legitimate tactic because it works in general. Zergs aren't unstoppable (unless the odds are like 500:1), but they have the advantage because there are more of them. It's the way things work- of course I want to win. Of course I don't want risk in my fights- I'd prefer a sure thing and maybe less honor points over a chance for more or none.

The only way to get fair fights is to FORCE fair fights, in general. And player communities aren't going to do that, because in general, people don't like risk.

The horde fighting is admirable (I mean, you might as well fight anyway), but it isn't really the defining quality of the horde, it just happens to be that way. I would say Horde players aren't more heroic or risk-taking in general, no more than the alliance.

Well, Lenny.. lemme give you some perspective.

I do a general search for items on the org AH (No filters applied). I get ~2300 items on any given night.

I do the same for the IF AH and get ~6500 items.

For me, that added to the suspense of the game. I was always riveted when I went out in the wilderness to chop wood for shieldmaking(this was back when you didn't lose any wood for failing at carpentry), and felt quite emboldened when I returned safely to town to hock my wares. Then again, I was like fifteen at the time, and enraptured with the game on a sort of infantile, "Ooh, shiny!" level. Of course, after getting teabagged repeatedly by griefers, every time I went somewhere even a little off the beaten path, I just made powerful friends--and a tailor mule, so I could focus my main character on combat. And wombats.

Please say this will not degrade to a: "Midgard sucks, no Albion sucks" thread.

Saying that one side is better then another or more honerable is not true, its entirely up to the players. And trust me idiots are on all sides of the fences. Like I said while on your server the alliance may be the major gankers, on other servers its not the case. On my server, with the exception of a few alliance guilds Horde pretty much ganked it up and down.

Funny cause we did have Hodre players come in to our guilds Ventrillo and we talked to them, and we would always hear them make the same complaints we made. That "Oh so and so was over here ganking someone 5 levels lower then him."

even funnier was the time they came in my guild's vent to yell at me for attacking 2 lvl 45s who were corpse camping my lvl 40 friend in my guild(its apparently not fair if you attack someone over 10 levels lower then you)

Well, yeah, it's the population issues, not saying it's a good thing. I'm just saying that a side with superior numbers (horde or alliance) will tend to zerg because they have the numbers advantage.

Albion zerged Emain Macha constantly.
