I
CAN
NOT
WAIT!!

This movie makes me want to dance in the heavens and on the clouds! Fox couldn't take the sky from me and dammit, Universal has brought it back to life!

You all will go see this movie. That is not a request! It is a DEMAND!

Premarital sex isn't worth it! You can catch AIDS, or cancer, or testicle weevils, or a bad body image or rickets. You know what IS worth it? Making love to Jesus. Because you can't knock Him up and He'll never ask what you're thinking – cuz He already knows!
^^Good times there!

Reavers!

My brother has it on DVD so I'll probably end up seeing it also. I'd say it's probably Joss Whedon's best series.

Well yes, but my brother is obsessed with Buffy so I'm used to being partial about it.

I've got the entire series on DVD. Watched it new on Fox and was terminally pissed when they cancelled it. I didn't see the Shepherd in the trailer, hope he made it. He was one of the cooler characters on the show.

And I don't remember River Tam kicking that much ass. I thought she was more of a gun enthusiast.

But, hey. At least I know what I'm gonna be doing on Sept. 30th.

This post inspired me to check IMDB to confirm...yes, Book is indeed there. Intriguingly enough, though...

According to an interview with Alan Tudyk, this is the first movie in a three-picture Firefly contract with Universal.

...I did not know that. Awesome.

This is gonna be cool. The trailer doesn't seem to show much of the trademark Firefly wit (besides "It's gonna get interesting." "How interesting?" "Oh-god-we're-all-gonna-die?") but surely that's for another trailer.

One of the best Sci-Fi shows ever made. The problem was it was put on Fox.

I'm confused about one thing. The show refused to have sound in space...but the movie does?

It could just be the preview. They are trying to sell it to the general audience...

In honor of this special occasion, everyone post funny Firefly quotes.

quote:
Inara: Right, you're a criminal mastermind! What was the last cargo we snuck past the Alliance to transport?
Mal: That was a...
Inara: What was the cargo?
Mal: They were dolls.
Inara: They were little Geisha dolls with big heads that wobbled!
Mal: Hey, people loved those!

quote:
Simon: So, finally, a decent wound on this ship and I miss out. I'm sorry.
Mal: Well, you were trying to get yourself lit on fire. It happens.

Mal: When I want a lot of medical jargon, I'll talk to a doctor.
Simon: You are talking to a doctor.

Wash: Psychic, though? That sounds like something out of science fiction.
Zoe: We live in a space ship, dear.
Jayne: I don't like the idea of someone hearing what I'm thinking.
Inara: No one likes the idea of hearing what you're thinking.

Early: Where'd she go?
Simon: I can't keep track of her when she's not incorporeally possessing a spaceship. Don't look at me.

Mal: How come there's some guy on board and you're all of a sudden the ship?
River: I know you have questions.
Mal: That would be why I just asked them.

yah, but I thought that was one of Joss's "selling points" for lack of a better term. I heard he was a big stickler about it for the show, just surprised he let it slide for the movie. Course, could be that I heard wrong, but *shrug*

The actual film is going to be sans sound in space. At least that's what the people who've gone to screenings have said. And I'm curious, has anyone here been lucky enough to score tickets to one of the ten screenings on May 5th?
