meh, I have a new "do everything by the rules" manger. We get half the stuff done with double the effort!
It wouldn't be so bad if we had the old manager and assistant manger back, don't get me wrong I like the current one, and I would get the pay raise that I was promised (I've been working there for atleast 6 months, I was promsied one at three months, and now because of 'budget problems' I might not get one at all)
Our "do everything by the rules" manager got transferred to another store... I'm more or less replacing her. We're in no big hurry, though, because the former Assistant Manager (went down to a one-day-a-week GSR, Assistant Manager position was filled, and then she...) walked out on her full-time job and is now a Shift Leader again. So while there is technically one spot open, he's in no major hurry to fill it, so I'm not feeling as much pressure as I would be.
It's really easy to get shafted there, though. You get paid shit in the first place, and then it all just comes pouring down at once. Our former assistant manager, like I said, got another job and went down to a one-day-a-week GSR and just helped with the wall on Mondays. Well, I guess since she was only working one day a week, they never docked her pay. But then she wound up walking out on the other job and needed to take on some more shifts (which was insanely lucky because alot of us got sick at once, so we were able to give them to her). Then, when we started going over on labor, our "everything by the rules" manager figured out what was up and told the Store Director about it (we're pretty sure he knew and just didn't do anything). So, the former assistant manager, after working there for 3 years, was suddenly down to making 5.75. I mean shit, I've been there 6 months and I'm making 5.50. I'm guessing she probably got a pay raise again, though, since now she's officially a shift leader again.

This one time, at Monica camp:
Gas prices up north are at least a quarter more.
$2.31 a gallon of 87.
I paid $1.95 at the beginning of last week, however.
But Christ almighty, Vorbis, how can you live with 2.31? We'd probably start rioting. Monica fucked around with this message on 04-03-2005 at 03:48 AM.
Oh, and $2.50 for gas and that's after it went down from nearing $3.00. And it's on the way back up.

Higher minimum wage here, and yet I can't find a bloody job for the life of me. California's suburban job market sucks shit.Oh, and $2.50 for gas and that's after it went down from nearing $3.00. And it's on the way back up.
Where in CA are you?

Verily, Monica doth proclaim:

It just bumped up this week. I buy maybe 15 gallons a month, so I don't notice it too bad.
But, as Batty said, electricity is cheap as hell because we're full of dams.
So in American terms:
$2.532/gallon USD here in Canada is the lowest I've seen it in about 3 weeks (0.668 cents per litre). Minimum wage is $5.89 USD.
