So, as I said some time last week, ECP is in bootcamp with the Navy. On account of this, letters and pictures are about the only thing he can get while he is there. I recieved a letter from him yesterday asking that I post his address here so that anyone who wanted to could send him letters, pictures, or news clippings... Anything about whats going on, online or in the real world. Below is his addres.

Hehe, you sound like me. However, he scored a 97, and is going into the nuke school. I think its perty cool, although the thought of him being in charge of a nuclear bomb... well, I'm sure bootcamp will change his ways

He wont be working on nuclear bombs unless he is going in specifically as a nuke bomb tech.

Chances are he'll be dealing with shipside nuclear reactors. (Nuclear reactors, by the way, are just massively overpowered steam engines. I just found that bit out myself. No green glowy radiation. Just superheated steam.)

What do you think makes the steam, Azakias?

Pretty much all nuke reactors are big steam production devices.

Yeah, I know (my brother was a nuke in the navy)

The main point I made was that he would probably be doing shipside nuclear power work, not working on bombs. The other was an interesting tidbit I just threw in there.

Pretty much all power plants use steam with the exception of hydroelectric dams. Even solar I think uses the energy to boil water. Which all reduces efficiency really badly. Just think what we could do if we found a more efficient way of converting it all.

There is a way for fusion power plants to convert the energy directly instead of boiling steam.

Nuclear plants don't have green glowies, but they do have blue glowies. Yes, they are radioactive.

You could not pay me enough money to work in a nuclear sub. Actually I'll modify that. The military could not pay me to work in a nuclear sub. They just don't have that kind of money.
