I'm going to licence the Torque engine and try out a few of my ideas for video games.

I'll need content creators and stuff like that. I also need people to bounce ideas off of and playtest. If you're interested, please get in touch with me via

  • aim tdietrich513
  • yahoo tdietrich513@yahoo.com
  • msn tdietrich@shepherdcolor.com (use MSN from 8-5 EST weekdays)

First project - Final Fantasy Tactics meets Magic the Gathering and gets a hint of RPG character building.

Hope to hear from you.

Blindy,

I've got an active Torque license, including the RTS starter kit. Only thing I haven't got is the Torque Shader Engine cuz that's a bit too over the top.

I'm not doing anything with it, so uh, it's probably legal enough if you use them, just slap me somewhere in the team as "annoyance factor" or something

I'd be willing to test things out and/or give ideas. But i think everyone on the board would be willing to do that

Cool. I'm kinda toying with the game idea now. I'd prefer not to post it on a message board quite yet. If you IM me I'll describe it in detail for you.

What kind of content design did you have in mind / what kind of content creation tools does Torque offer?
Life... is like a box of chocolates. A cheap, thoughtless, perfunctory gift that nobody ever asks for. Unreturnable, because all you get back is another box of chocolates. You're stuck with this undefinable whipped-mint crap that you mindlessly wolf down when there's nothing else left to eat. Sure, once in a while, there's a peanut butter cup, or an English toffee. But they're gone too fast, the taste is fleeting. So you end up with nothing but broken bits, filled with hardened jelly and teeth-crunching nuts, and if you're desperate enough to eat those, all you've got left is a... is an empty box... filled with useless, brown paper wrappers.

Need creature/summon balance designs and sprites to go along with them. Spell design, ect.

Torque 2D offers particle based effects and an advanced 2d physics engine.

Maybe I could help you out with stats, mechanics etc but I can't draw / animate worth a damn.

Balance/play testing will be a pretty monumental effort with how flexible this game is going to be. So any help is appreciated.

Are you using the card game idea? That idea rules, imo.

Yeah. I've been refining it for 6 months or so. Last time I attempted to do this I got stuck at finding a good engine and after testing 6 free open source solutions I just gave up. But now that Torque has released a 2D engine I think my time has come.
