I hear noise outside my door for a bit, but I figured it was my roommate and a few friends, which happens every now and then. I wont bitch at her for having buddies over. However, when I heard male voices starting to scalate out in the common area, I walked out.
There were no less than 10 guys out there. At least 2 were drunk. My roommate was helping a girl who was so shitfaced she couldnt see straight, stand. For some reason, my roommate saw me and the lookk on her face was a mix of surprise, fear, and releif.
I promptly started a fucking shitfest. In less than 30 seconds I had those guys scrambling out of my room. All except for 2 drunk guys, and this HUGE burly guy who also refused to leave. The crowd was still outside the door though.
I saw a petty officer who lived in the barracks walk by, and I knew he had just gotten off of guard duty. He was in cammies. I yelled for him to come over, and asked him to perhaps do something about these people. I suppose the only thing worse than a pissy, tired, sick woman raising hell, is a pissy, tired, just off of duty E5 decided to help out.(it was after taps, by the way. Everyone not a resident on the room could have been in shitloads of trouble.) We eventually got all of the drunkards out of the room except for the girl, and the big guy. I rounded on him and opened my mouth to start up again, when he held his hand up and told me that he was the duty watch from the drunk girl's ship.
The drunk girl, by the way, was forcefully retching this entire time. Right into the toilet that again, I desperately had to use. She wasnt being too clean about it either.
Turns out she had been snorting pills too.
I got adamant that she not remain in my room any longer. I dont tolorate drugs or drug users in my room. Her PO agreed with my and they started helping her down to her room, which is only down the fucking hall from mine. Why couldnt the drama stay there? I found out why my roommate had taken her to my room later. Turns out the girl had been having a party, and was fine the first time my roommate checked up on her. The second time she went by, however, the girl was shitfaced, passed out on her bed, and a guy was undoing her pants. So I didnt really blame her for bringing her here after hearing that. My interrupted sleep is not as important as keeping a girl from being raped.
I ended up giving my roommate's boyfriend's friend a ride back to his ship so he wouldnt have to ride a taxi, at least. He told me to try not to let all the drama in my barracks kill me.
Good for you for being the responsible one though. Still, if it bugs you, you can fix it.

The logic train ran off the tracks when Palador ChibiDragon said:
Take drunk people outside, and spin them till they hurl.
quote:
From the book of Alidane, chapter 3, verse 16:
I think part of the problem is that they're already hurling.
Then the sooner they're outside, the better.
Seriously, abuse the drunk people. They'll soon learn, blurry though the memories may be, that they don't want to be drunk on your turf.
quote:
Alidane had this to say about Reading Rainbow:
Jesus Christ...are you in college, or the military? Sounds like my old dorm...
Military.
And sad as it may be, it is like a college dorm.
Thing is, this time it wasnt really my roommates fault that she brought her over. If it were me, there's no way in hell I would allow anyone to get raped and this was the closest 'safe' spot. Especially since she knew the noise would eventually coax me out of my room and I could throw my minor elevation in rank around until her ship PO got there. (This is about the only instance where I will do that. I think throwing E4 around is petty)
Another thing. This girl had already been reported to her ship. A thing people dont realize is that the average age for a servicemember is around 19 or 20. If it can be taken care of quietly, most of the time, underage drinkers wont be reported. This normally just occurs overseas because if every person who got smashed on the boat got reported, there would be NJP (Non-judicial punishment) every other day.
On shore bases in the US, though, like mine it gets reported a lot more. This girl would have been fine if she hadnt had 15 people in her room and were loud to boot.
That is seriously the most idiotic thing I have come across so far. An underage girl throwing a drinking party in her room in a military barracks, and then claiming she was 23 to a guy who has her ID card. (those get confiscated by your command when you get unruly, for identification and verification purposes)
But the other drunks you could do without.
I would think the last place you want to be stoned is on a military base. Oh well.
You handled it nicely, thoguh . Comments on intelligence aside (and this is from someone who has spent nights in other guys' sleeping bags... with the guy), she was in the best place she could have been. Even if she'd get in trouble for it .
