after hearing Dergoatory comments about my body type.
after thinking about what having extra pounds could do to my health.
after watching TV and seeing hardly ANY models or actresses in my size.
I've had it. I am resolving myself to a diet. A serious, workout-inspired, healthy eating, DIET.
And this one, I'm going to keep to.
My current status:
Weight: 218
Height: 5'6"
Bra Size: 38DD
Shirt Size: XL
Pants size: 16/18 Waist, 22 Long
THIS WILL CHANGE! Things I need to get rid of (for my sanity):
- My Stomach
- My Chest
- My Double Chin
- My Thighs
- My Upper arm flab
All I need is support and lack of temptation. Hopefully my mom and Dad will understand what I need to accomplish. Hopefully my friends do too... they're the ones that lead me to temptation. **NOT THAT I DON'T LOVE YOU GUYS!!**
That means givig up mcdonalds, pita pit, alcohol, pizza, and unfortunately, pop (in moderation, I have an addiction)
and, I'm not gonna lie, part of this came from going shopping with a friend and having her pick out sizes and clothes i could never wear..
mostly, I need to get myself to a point where I'm happy with who I am, and where everyone is happy that I'm happy with who I am.
and I'm not there right now.
I guess this is more of an FYI post, but the whine tag is selectified, so you can pretty much take it as it is.

edit: I guess I should choose the right tag!
Looking forward to seeing some deliciously startling and pleasant results. I'd say some more supportive things but I can't think of anything.
So yeah, good luck and here's a look of amazement!
I've been on a light exercise regimine since I posted a thread about it a while ago, and I just keep getting better. I lost three pounds already

congratulations!!
If you need inspiration I can motivate you as I am sure anyone on EC will.
Good luck hun, it's so tough but you seem to have to motivation. I have faith in you
Keep me posted!
We would run ourselves into the ground, get tired as hell, but once we were done, all the endorphins released was niiiiice.
Nothing like a weird exuberance. Its nature's high.
Good luck, though. Now that the commitment is made, we'll all kill you if you don't fulfill it .

There's the motivation!
Try to do it healthily. But be prepared to get crap from all angles whether you do it "right" or not.
Yeah.
I know that most diet pop tastes terrible, but, I've found there are some drinks that taste less like a diet drink than others.
For instance, Diet Vanilla Coke, Diet A&W Creme Soda, and Diet A&W Root Beer. All 3 I cannot taste the difference between the sugared versions and the Nutrasweet versions.
Can save big on calories here.
My suggestion is, depending on how good your tap water is.. go out and buy a sixpack of water. Dasani makes good 24 oz. containers. Keep 'em in the fridge. When they're empty, fill them from the tap and put 'em back in the fridge.
Nothing better then refrigerated water.
If you eat out a lot, you can save a buttload but eating in instead. A lot of fast foods and such are really bad for you, and if you make it yourself you know exactly what goes into it, and if you're a good cook you can leanerize foods as you will. The money you save can go to reward yourself later, and your cooking skills will definitely improve... plus, you can reward yourself with increasingly nummier homemade foods at the end of a good week or so .
If anyone finds a less-bad-for-you recipe for one of my most horrible weaknesses (chocolate-chip peanut-butter cookies), gimme. Those things give me big thighs
I've cut back on a lot of the junk I had been eating (I eat a lot of those lean cuisine and these nummy teriyaki bowls with 2grams of fat), and my job has helped keep me active as well as the commute. I don't own a scale, so I don't know how much I've lost, BUT...
I saw RedMage the other day and the first thing he said to me was that I had lost weight. w00t
I'll probably start back up again after the holiday season, just doing pushups and curling what free weights we have around the house. I know cardio is the key to losing weight, and that's almost exclusivly what I did before, but running will just kill me, and I don't really have access to an exersize bike. It's over at my mom's apartment, and yeah... I don't really want to go there and see what she's doing to herself now...
But in any case, it's a big undertaking. I wish you the best of luck, and if you stick with just some mild exersize and change youre diet you will see a massive improvement. I lost something like 40 or 50lbs about a year ago when I decided to start shaping up a bit. I gained 10 back, but kept most of my good habits for a while. You'll see an awesome difference I guarentee it. I was nearly getting into size 40 pants, and actually had to buy 36s after I was done losing, and they still fit well
If you can find the time, walk for at least half an hour every day, and walk a full hour whenever possible. If you can find a hill, walk up the hill. If you feel like running, run. One of the best signs of getting in shape is looking at something you'd normally be too lazy or sluggish to do, thinking, meh, why not? and doing it. Exersize also burns off stress from a rough day. Then there's what others have said about the natural high you get.
Warning: you're going to get cravings. Cravings mean you're short on something, and often times it isn't calories. Make sure you're getting all the vitamins and minerals you need. A multivitamin never hurts, but don't presume your system will absorb everything in one of those pills. Spinach and tapwater will both start tasting very good if you're short on iron. Water of any kind starts tasting really good if you're dehydrated, and it may solve your soda cravings. Milk satisfies cravings for ice cream. Figure out exactly what you're craving, and you can generally determine what nutrient you've depleted.
Most importantly, good luck, and stick with it.
either way, I'm trying as hard as I can to switch to water, because every morning I wake up with a dry throat and I don't feel well... And i think it's because I don't drink water at all...

If I lived closer to you, I sooooo would, but Barrie vs. Burlington makes that kinda hard.
and liquor.
And force yourself to adhere to 3 meals a day, one snack (baby carrots, green peppers, or wild outrageous fruit. something like that.)
And then with ample exercise you will end up smaller.

I knoes.
Tomorrow will be my first day back to the gym in quite a while; I've been bad about it. Don't be like me, keep working out regularly. Semester long breaks tend to be very detrimental on your progress.
Seriously though, I suggest a good joging regiment, you'd be supprised what 4 months of it can do. I've lost 25 lbs and 4 pants sizes, which sux, as now i need new pants.
