Alrighty, I need some suggestions for anime. Basically, I'm looking for some cool mech animes to watch. I've already watched all of Full Metal Panic, Neon Genesis Evangelion, and the TV series of Gundam Wing (You know, if that counts or not, I'm really sketchy on that but hey, just in case anyone feels like suggesting it)

Anyways, any input would be great, and failing that any suggestions for some action filled animes would be great.

Edit: Just for clarification, I'm hoping for a more-so serious anime, as in I want grit and gloom! (If that makes any sense, heh)

What Arrenn said

Aside from that, I would suggest the Robotech/Macross series. Escaflowne has a giant.. thing, but I'm not sure if that's what you're looking for.

Bakuretsu Tenshi is pretty awesome. Involves both mecha and normal fighting. It's only fansubs right now, last I checked, so you'll have to find online. Escaflowne is flat out awesome.

Oops, missed that word. My bad.

Macross Plus is good. As is Macross Zero.

Also, you might want to look for Turn-A Gundam. I haven't seen much of it, but what I have seen appeared to have a fairly solid story going.

FMA isn't "mecha" anime, but it is enjoyable.

It's made by Gonzo and just about everything they put out that I've seen has been worth watching. That includes Full Metal Alchemist, Bakuretsu Tenshi, Samurai 7, and....one other that I can't remember the name but was on Tech TV for a while. All good quality animation.

Last Exile. Started off meh but got quite good in the end. Not mechs, but air combat and giant floating ships.

Speaking of Gonzo, check out Blue Sub 6 and Yukikaze, both are worth your time. Very very shiny. Yukikaze is jet fighter, which are kinda like mechs....

Oh and Irresponsible Captain Tylor, its damn funny.

Dual is a good Mecha anime, though it's VERY silly during the parts between action. Not very dark and gritty at all.

It pokes fun at most mecha anime in general.

Great fun.
