My dad and I decided to both chip in and get my mom a new PDA for Christmas. We decided to go with a dell, just because of the simplicity for her sake. Then we narrowed it down to two, but we dont know enough about the things to choose which one. The two we have limited the selection down to are:
Dell Axim X30
-and-
Axim X50

If someone who is somewhat knownledgable about PDA's or owns one of these would please help me with this I would be most greatly obliged. Just as a note:

The money difference is not an issue (we've already taken that into consideration). Oh, and she wont be using it for hardcore business stuff. She just needs it for contacts, daily planner, and a few other little things.

Thanks.

if all she'll be using it for is contacts, planner, work processing, basic spreadsheeting, document viewing, and such, then I'd HIGHLY suggest either a handspring or palm product. The O/S is much more intuitive, as well as being a quite bit slimmer and lighter (in general) than a pocket-pc.

Pocket-pc's are just more power than most users ever will need, and they'd be well served by a palm-based device.

Bite me.

No, Really. Bite me.

You may want to look into the Tungsten E. I have one and love it. Very nice for under 200 bucks. For a basic planner, etc it is all you need and more.

One thing I forgot to add, and I should've, is it can not have the shorthand pad, it has to have the little touch screen buttons. My mom despises the shorthand option with a passion. Sorry to accidentally forget this information.
