Ok, so it came out. Its a big hit according to many of you guys.

I havent followed up on it, so forgive me for making a redundant thread (havent really read the threads here on it because I dont have any knowledge of the actual game, really.)

My question is, I have limited time to play a game. Is this version friendly to soloers? Can I play for maybe an hour or two at a time and still make headway?

Reason I havent looked up on it is because I dont wanna start desiring something that will take entirely too much effort and demand a lot of time to make any progress.

Advice?

I find it very solo friendly, but my highest character is only level 11 right now. Dens can give you more information on higher levels.

But considering I went solo from level 6 to almost 10 entirely through questing around my starting city, I'd say that soloing is welcome

It is decently solo-friendly at the lower levels, not sure about the higher ones. There is still an emphasis on grouping.

I solo'd practically from 1 to 20. The few times I grouped, was to complete quests, and I generally got more debt than I gained XP.

Melees are the easiest to be pure soloers, because you don't have to upgrade your abilities as badly. Casters, on the other hand, have to work more to upgrade their spells, since if you don't, the spells become grey to you, and then they are resisted a whole lot.

But, there are mobs specifically designed to be soloed, and mobs specifically designed to be fought by groups. When you target a mob, it tells you which type it is.

I was in the Virgin Islands once. I met a girl, we ate lobster, drank piña coladas. At sunset, we made love like sea otters. That was a pretty good day. Why couldn't I get that day over, and over?

Yeah I solo constantly, unless we're doing fallen gate or city quests, I'm soloing.

A lvl 14 warrior can solo lvl 18 Giant Vulriches... Just gotta know where to go

Awesome. I went out and got the game last night.

I started on one of those really light-load servers. And how long do you have to stay in the damn newbie tutorial thingy? I got off the boat and it still feels like a tutorial.

And do I need to raise my graphics output to view the water decently? I have it on balanced, and the water looks rather retarded and annoying.

Balanced is a good setting. Try turning your water options up. Go into options, then performance, there should be a + about water.

You will be on the n00b island until at least 5th or 6th level. You can be off of it in an hour if you just do the quests. If you run around and explore you could spend as long as 3 or 4 hours there. I was at 6th level and 120% to 7th before I left with shades, in fact by the time I completed my citizenship quest i was at 240% to 7th level and went directly from 6th to 8th level in about 2 seconds.

Well, I only played for about 45 minutes last night in any case.

What server are the majority of people on?

When Deth and I had Lydia and Lanavar there, they got to 220%, the limit, into level 6, and dinged 8 right away when they did their citizenship stuff.

Antonia Bayle with a freeport alignment seems to be the big winner.
