/agree
SWG is what I'd call a career MMORPG, you need to play it long-term or not at all. CoH is the exact opposite.

But, I'm biased because I want to lure Ferrel over to Planetside with me 
(IMO, get something free and online like Gunbound or Maple Story. Both are good games.)

Honestly if you grind you can max proffessions, all three tiers, in a couple weeks/months. Been there done that, and its not terribly hard, it is just HORRIBLY FREAKING BORING.
I had Maxed, Scout, Rifleman, and most of Creature Handler save for the top tier, while working through Medic and Bio-Engineer. It was really really fun, for like a month, then you realize there is absolutely nothing to it and it just makes you brain dead.
You can essentially macro your way through most everything with minimal attention to what you are doing, and if you pay attention, its just push button risnse repeat for hours on end.
Exploring gets old fast as there is absolutely nothing to really explore, everything is horribly repetative with nothing really in between point A and point B except vast open emptiness.
Creature Handler and Bio-Engineer are kinda fun in a Pokemon-Collect em all kinda way, but it wears off fast, especially when you realize there are like 10 models (Exhageration, but you get the point) for the entire universe and there are just different skins for em depending on whatever planet you are on.
Combat is horribly unbalanced, or at least it was before, not sure now... It was really lamed to get ganked constantly, even by weak stuff, because of the imbalance.
It was great, for like a month, but then you really start to feel the drain and you realize what a horrible piece of crap it is, not to mention running like ass on any decent PC as most all SoE games do.
Note this is all my opinion, but there is really nothing good I can say about SWG. And it was at least on topic. As for the recomendation I recomend restarting CoH. Being so casual, yet horribly horribly fun, it's the best choice, especially for the short term.
School is important.. or something like that.
Thats how I felt about the beta.
