There's probably 50 people all gathered in CoH Guardian serevr right now, all saluting the memory of Superman.

He will be greatly missed, as a hero, as a role model, as an activist, and as a great man.

Vale Christopher Reeve.

Premarital sex isn't worth it! You can catch AIDS, or cancer, or testicle weevils, or a bad body image or rickets. You know what IS worth it? Making love to Jesus. Because you can't knock Him up and He'll never ask what you're thinking – cuz He already knows!

Mr. Reeve, you may have been known for flying, but I hope they let you walk through the gates.

Rest in peace.

Dag yo', that really blows. I was hoping he could eventually like move his arm or something. At the very least he doesn't have to suffer anymore. Rest in peace, Superman.

Oh man...

Now I really understand how all the characters in the comic felt when Superman "died". You just sort of assume someone will be there and you forget how important they are.

Jeez.

First Dangerfield, then Superman.

It comes in threes.

This is very sad. He was a very great man, A true superman.

On a side note, Ken Caminiti died as well. He my not be widly know, but he holds great importance in san diego as one of the padres to help carry them to world series and he was a good guy.

Yaknow, had the people at the scene had the guy properly treated; told him not to move and call an ambulance, he'd still probably be walking and running about n'stuff now. Instead they told him he was fine and to get up, and in trying to get up he severed his spinal cord.

He knew that ever since, and never sued the riding club thing or whatever it was he was at.

Eh.

His performance as superman was good, however, irl he was a real jerk. Before he was thrown from his horse and paralyzed, he did nothing for paralysis research. Then, when he himself became paralyzed, all of a sudden he starts this "charity" to help fund paralysis research. Yeah, it was good that he helped bring awareness to paralysis, but his reasons for doing so were far from the noble intentions as painted on him by the media.

Amusing little edit.

Lil question for you theravenofcu, do you have any evidence or research that led you to that conclusion, or are you letting maddox make up your mind for you?

Not giving to charity does not make you a jerk.

I give to CFC every year, barely even knowing to which charity I am contributing. However, if I came down with lymphoma, you'll be damn sure I'd start paying more attention and charities to organizations dealing with it.

Its all in self interest to live.

I mean, when was the last time you carried on a campaign for say.... ultra-photosensitive people who cannot tolorate light directly on their skin?

(Not meaning to be a personal attack, just demonstrating that almost all 'charity' is motivated by underlying selfish concerns. His was just more obvious.)

I'd never heard of Maddox until now. Also, I'm not 14, I'm 21.

Not that you have reason to believe me, or have given me any reason to care if you do.
