Why? I did lots of research on it. The 17 inch Powerbook, while expensive, is near identical in specs to other 17 inch laptops. It weighs less than them all, and has incredibly good battery life. OSX is fucking sexy too.
I'm still sticking with a PC for my main system though -- because of games. But...laptops aren't gaming machines anyway -- they are made for working IMO. So...that's why I'm going with a Mac laptop.
Why did I post this? Because I know it'll make for an interesting thread. Falaanla Marr fucked around with this message on 09-11-2004 at 12:43 AM.
It'd be like... A sketchbook with colors and a collection of music. Hmmmmm

While we're on the subject of powerbooks... Y'know what I would give my soul for? A PowerBook G5 with a Cyntiq-like screen. I heard of one laptop PC having a screen like that, but not of PowerBooks. (Not that I did any research)It'd be like... A sketchbook with colors and a collection of music. Hmmmmm
I believe toshiba makes something similar to what you are thinking about.
You'll see the in CompUSA, it looks like a laptop normally but the screen can flip around and fold down turning it into a tablet PC.

You're talking about the Toshiba Portege. I have one.
What you do though, is install the Wacom Pen drivers, so you can use the pressure sensitivity to it's full potential... as much as you can with a non Wacom Tablet.
Just something I did with the pen, depending on how you set everything. I'm not entirely sure if I understand it's full potential. Soldar fucked around with this message on 09-11-2004 at 08:32 AM.

Yes, that. Make it into a PowerBook, and I'm sold ;o
Seeing as I'm going to have access to Photoshop and such, is there any site you can recommend I go to to learn more about using it? While I'm good at writing, I want to learn about the other side of Journalism -- the laying out of pages and creation of graphics and such. Editing photos and the like. So, any suggestions are appreciated.
