This question is simple but at the same time frustratingly difficult. DualView refuses to work for longer than 5 minutes with my CRT and LCD monitors. I set the CRT as primary and the extended desktop on the LCD. Both monitors run 1600x1200. After running for a few minutes, I get a page_fault_in_nonpaged_area, specifically with win32k.sys. Drivers have been updated with no results. Am I doing something illegal here?

I have yet to install the LCD monitors, and they're at home. Is it possible that they're needed to stop this? I wouldn't even ask except that I can't get to them right now. The card does run just fine on the LCD alone, though, so it doesn't seem like that'd be it. In either setup, I have the LCD plugged into the video card through DVI-D.

I've noticed errors occurring in XP doing the extended desktop as well. It seems to only happen when the extended desktop resolution is the same size as or greater than the resolution on the main desktop. Test that as well and see if that might be it?

My main (CRT) monitor is 1152x864, and the secondary (LCD) is 1280x1024. The only problems I've had are that both IRC and full-screen games keep wanting to open on the primary monitor, and my video card gets overwhelmed if I run NWN windowed with DualView (GeForce4 Ti4400). The CRT runs at 70hz, and the LCD at 60hz (its optimal/native setting). I get less eyestrain that way.

[Addendum] Also, I can swap which monitor is primary or secondary without any repricussions other than it moving IRC and full-screen games back and forth. And I've found settings to deal with most of the IRC-moving annoyances.

Rez! Bam!

Well, Bajah, I thought that fixed it. I was playing WC3 and it was going smoothly. I even managed to stop the annoying window shift that 'Doc is describing by making WC3 run at the same resolution as the desktop it was on.

But then, after playing, it crashed again, only to give a titleless, driverless blue screen. When I had it generate an error report, it said "error caused by device driver." Very un

One thing I noticed is that sometimes, while dualviewing, rundll32 will eat up 99% of the cpu process and bring the system down to its knees. The only way to stop it is to kill the process.
