So far, I'm loving it. Its really fun and its a lot better than T2, though not as as good as T1 I think. Once they get the annoying bugs ironed out that were introduced into this version, it'll run great too.
Now only if we could get an EC server running. Playing on pubs can be really annoying, especially after you tell idiots for the 500th time not to move or blow up the rover that you've been using as a staging point for attacks.
I've never played the other Tribes games.
Several people in the Militia-7th Corps Alliance are doing the beta right now, and are definitely looking forward to retail. Kak (who must be the biggest Tribes fan ever) and Blackjack have a TS channel for it now on our server. Don't know what names they play under though...
I was an expert pilot, but that didn't make flying any less annoying and/or tedious.

Nope, but there's less vehicles in T:V; a tank, a buggy (its really just a drivable spawn point), a one-man flying thing (best description I can give), and a bomber. The controls are more arcadish, so, in other words, they're pretty easy to control. Game also relies a lot less on the vehicles, since they respawn at pad for each a set amount of time after the last one from that pad died. So its back to infantry combat like T1.

He's in the beta. You're not. Thus, he's a bigger fan than you

Flying was inredibly easy (and damn fun) in Tribes 2.
edit: goddammnit, my download always freezes when I use the Fileplanet download manager here. I have to register for a new cd key EACH TIME I want to restart the download. wtfog. Kegwen fucked around with this message on 08-29-2004 at 02:53 PM.

Use IE to download, not Mozilla/Firefox. They have problems with the manager.

Firefox can't even INSTALL the manager (since they only designed it for IE and all), so yes I was using IE and it's locked up on multiple occasions with completely different files. Kegwen fucked around with this message on 08-29-2004 at 03:24 PM.

Ah, as my brother somehow has the manager working in Mozilla. *shrugs* Could always wait for the open beta, as it'll hit the torrent networks then. Actually, you can find a torrent now if you look hard enough.
