I've posted a few times with little to no response, but I figure I'd post again. My current rig is running an 1800+, on the K7VTA3 board, 1.25gb of PC2100 over 3 dimms, a 120gb WD (7.2krpm + 8mb cache), and a 60gb maxtor, 7.2krpm 2mb cache. I'm going to pop in the 3k+ I just got, and a 1gb DIMM of PC2700, and call it a day. I'll get around to a newer video card some other day, my GeForce 4 Ti 4600 is working well enough.

The second box I'm going to be building will be a media server basically. I'm going to use it to store files, make DVDs, and record TV. I'm going to pop in the 1800+, 1gb of PC2100, a WD 120gb 7.2krpm 8mb cache OS/Installs drive, and 2 200 or 250gb 7200rpm 8mb cache bulk storage RAID 0'ed. I'm still debating on how I want to do the recording, if I want to to get a $30 TV Tuner and a $40 video card, or a $100 All-In-Wonder and call it a day. I'm also going to throw in a Sony DRU-700A for mobile copies.
But, which mobo should I run on what PC? I'm fairly happy with the K7VTA3 so far as is. I haven't had any issues with it, and I don't reallly need the super OMG onboard audio offered by the nForc2 board because I have an SB Audigy already. And not to mention it's just a pain to swap a mobo anyway when you have to move 4 drives out of the way first because your case is cramped. Although I'd probably see a performance boost if I ran 2x512 PC3200 sticks in the nForce board. I'm just not sure it'd be worth the extra cost for the slight performance boost.
I would, but if you don't want to, don't.

I realise the nForce 2 is a better chipset, but I'm only going to see a marginal performance increase anyway. I don't feel like cursing over my beige box for an hour to get it in there.
