Skaw plays it a lot.

Jailbreak: Team DM with a twist. When you die, you're sent to a cell, relying on teammates to run over release switches. If an enemy teammate is in jail, you can have an Arena Match to fight for freedom(Some maps don't have this.) The Downside: If your team sucks, you pretty much will suffer from it. Also, unlike the Quake 2 and Half-Life versions, most maps don't have an escape route from Jail. Infact, I haven't played a map that has one yet.
RedOrchestra: Realistic WW2 mod. Russians vs. Axis in most cases. It only takes a few shots to put you down. Theres no reticle, so when you want to shoot accurately, you have to bring up your iron sights. Basic Capture and Hold gameplay, they're working on adding vehicles, such as armored transports. The Downside: Genades are way too effective. Their splash range is HUGE.
Alien Swarm: A unique top-down view mod. It plays out alot like Installation-based missions in StarCraft, complete with spray n' pray fights against aliens, but it's far from an army building RTS. You only have a handful of squad members at your disposal which you can switch between in Single Player. Multiplayer is the heart of this mod, even though it does have a Single Player campaign. The Downside: Awkward interface to get used to.
AirBuccaneers: Two Words: Air Pirates. Hot air balloons mounted with canons. This mods game play is real slow though, but fun if you have a great team on your ships. Theres some pride invoked by downing a galleon with a single cannon balloon. The Downside: The game is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay slow. Not graphically or processor based. The ships just don't move fast. My favorite Jailbreak server is Mothership. The people there are really friendly, and don't deal kindly to dickheads. I just recommend watching out for Spanks. He's really good with Shock combos, and generally owns me in 1 on 1 fights.
I forget the name of my favorite RedOrchestra server, but it's the only one that is almost always full.
These are really the only 2 mods I actively play. I play AlienSwarm when my friends want to. Skaw fucked around with this message on 08-23-2004 at 06:48 PM.

I just played through the tutorial last night since I didn't have time to start the campain.
It plays kinda like the lost vikings crossed with soldat- you have different soldiers with different abilities, IE the weapons chick who can use the auto tracking chain gun, the hacker guy who can hack computer terminals, the medic- ect. You control one soldier at a time, using the W-A-S-D keys to move and the mouse to aim. You can tell the other soldiers to follow you or stay where they are. Each soldier can carry two weapons (shot gun, flame thrower, chain gun, machine gun) and one other item like flares, welding/cutting torch (yes, you can seal doors just like in aliens), medic kit, ect.
The catch? When your soldiers are being controlled by the AI, they are much more efficient killing machines while ordered to stand than they are while following. In battle your troops will do better if you switch between them rapidly and place them in some sort of formation where they can cover each other than they would if they were just following you around.
It seems like alot of fun, multiplayer would probibly be a blast. Blindy fucked around with this message on 08-24-2004 at 09:29 AM.

Yeah I messed around withit a little bit last night. Singleplayer seems more tedious than fun, being overly complicated, but Multiplayer seems like it would totally rock.

When you get to 100 you can use special combinations of the movement buttons to unlock abilities like invisibility or berserkness. I haven't used it since neither Assault nor Onslaught has Adrenaline, but I remember one of them was like back-back-back-back and another was forward-forward-forward-forward. Something like that.

One of my favorite tricks is to pile grenades onto a Manta before getting on it. It's so awesome; a guy killed me and then I got "Double Kill!" as the explosion took out my killer and one of his comrades.

Those of us in the Militia and 7th Corps play online. We have [M7] before our names. I play as [M7]Relz.
Whenever I do play I look for those guys and the people I know from PS.
I should see if I can find one of NVSniper's videos where he takes on 4 or 5 bots on godlike or whatever the hardest setting is and goes 100/2! It's rather amazing to watch him play.

Yeah, piling 4 grenades on each fan is a great way to get "Plow" kills.
Though one time, one grenade was right on the side of one Manta I was using, and you know how those things like to slam into the ground coming off cliffs... yeah. Boom.

b-b-b-b is Booster. Regeneration. Once you reach 199 health with it, it starts giving you armor.
f-f-f-f is Speed. You run 2-3 times as fast.
r-r-l-l is Invisibility, I believe.

You really only need to worry about Booster. All the rest suck in comparison.

I really like the speed. It's a blast running around that fast... kinda like surge in PS but without all the problems, and it makes it so hard to hit someone speeding. I just don't like the rocket launcher when speeding, I seem to instagib myself too easily.
First time I've EVER seen 2 people kill eachother in the same moment, without it involving grenades.

Make a shortcut on your windows desktop pointing to the ut2004:// and my IP
It'll autoconnect to server. Give me a moment though, I forgot to close some stuff before I started hosting, so I had to quit out.
Actually I just noticed 1.1 was out. I'll get it downloaded real quick. Skaw fucked around with this message on 08-24-2004 at 05:40 PM.

Every god damn newbie in the game double loads cannons at spawn. It's retarded, because it kills the range on your first shot, which makes or breaks a successful fight :/
It's not something people hear about.
