Anyways.
Go Here. Read this. This and the forum rules found over here are your new bibles. While you are reading these, stop posting. Do not post again until these are so ingrained into your forehead that we could read them by putting a flashlight against your ear.
Afterwards, lurk for a good month or so. We are a very tightly knit community, and you shall be ostracized pretty much instantly for certain comments or arguing about certain things. So don't take the chance, and sit back and just read for awhile.
If you do all this, you may be welcomed into the community without being beaten or spit on too badly, unless you begin to act like an utter moron, troll, or just plain stupid.
Direct all questions to the back of your brains and answer them yourself while reading those links or lurking. Ferret fucked around with this message on 08-05-2004 at 08:22 PM.

i know how a damn message board works, dont care which one it is.

Well considering the fact that you don't know how to use a damn shift key, no you don't.
I'm betting good money you didn't actually click on the links. Ferret fucked around with this message on 08-05-2004 at 10:33 PM.
i mean, there pretty much always the same for every board, unless you guys have specific rules, which i doubt cause ive been posting for about 5 days now and had no problem.
and because i dont know how to use a shift key, i dont know how to use a board. cmon, you couldve pulled something better than that out of your ass

Manjusri wrote this then went back to looking for porn:
i read parts of the first link. the second is the rules, and i dont need no stinkin rules.
See, look what you missed by reading the rules.

Lurk before posting. You should get a general feel for the community before you come barging into it. We will not change our behavior to suit you, and any insinuation to that effect will probably result in a demonstration of what will change to suit your delicate sensibilities.
And Alidane, I act elitist from time to time so that this board doesn't degenerate into another of the countless imbecilic message boards amongst the internet wastes. I like this community because the people are intelligent, and kind if you are the same back. I don't want EC to turn into a place that I'm ashamed to have once come from. Ferret fucked around with this message on 08-05-2004 at 10:47 PM.
Cheers.
If you weren't chased out of other boards doesn't mean that you're invulnerable, it just means the admins were too lazy to ban your ass, or just gave up from the level of assholery already present on the boards. You'll find that here at Evercrest, we're not going to sit idly by and ignore you if you disrespect us. There's a good number of people here who will rip you a new asshole if you keep crossing them. And Drysart isn't afraid to use the Banstick on trolls, as many of us have witnessed over the years.
Seriously, read the rules, calm down, lurk a bit, get a sense of what goes on here. Rushing in will earn you nothing but disrespect, and maybe even an insulting title that sticks around even after it no longer applies. I learned that lesson the hard way, yet I've stuck around for over three years now. Try to ensure that your tenure doesn't last three weeks or less.
Where is that "You are an idiot" url when you need it.

Newsflash, this isn't some teenage livejournal or linkin park message board. You are coming into a well-established community where spelling and grammar are virtues that are held pretty high. I've seen you mocked in several other threads already, so get off your damn high horse.
understood, and after looking over my past 20 posts, a good portion of them are me being what you call an "arrogant asshole"
yet i do not understand, ive been on many many many message boards and all of them have exercised the great right of free speech. so i figure, If i wanna say oh i dont know "ninja pirates = fags" i think i have a little right to say something like that. If people take this as a derogetory remark and get offended, they need to get off the message board and find some life outside, learn to be happy and look past the bullshit, just ignore me i dont care. But, if your on the other side of the fence and find this funny, and not take the word fag literally then good for you, you have what i like to call a sense of humor.
now let this be my official "introduction"...........
I like people, i really do, all different types. Gay, straight, black, white, asian, mexican, british, canadian etc.
If you take anything that even sounds remotely like it could be funny to just one person literally, ignore me. its not that hard, just scroll down. If its funny than it probably has no relativity to the topic at hand anyway.
Sometimes I can be funny, emotional, there for you. But I am almost ALWAYS sarcastic. Once again, dont like sarcasm, ignore me. I ignore alot of people on this bored, and ive only been here for 5 days.
As for grammatical errors, i make a ton, who doesnt. if anybody focuses on grammatical errors on the internet to the point where the non use of the shift key upsets them, please, seek help.
any other info can be found here

There is a fair sized population of homosexuals on here and using "fag" when they don't know if you are joking or not isn't that great. Most of the use of it on here is by people they have been associated with for years and understand that its just joking.
*hands Mwhateverthefuck a helmet*
You'll need it.
ban me, flame me, whatever, not like its ever happened before. ive said what i think ive had to say.

It's "I don't need any stinking rules"
My god, using a bunch of negatives in a sentence is truly aggravating. I really don't mean to sound snobby and annoyingly grammatically correct.
Rules can be good for you!
And, they're important if you want to fit in. You must show respect too. You can't just come here and act all snotty and stuff. To get respect, you must show respect.

Sepia, you seem fine. I haven't seen you before a few weeks ago and you've been here for a year at least, so that automatically upgrades you in my book.
Oh and Cysa, going with how everyone else is going still doesn't make you cool. Grow some opinions of your own.
I really don't see how big a deal it is just to adjust a few words here and there.

I'll dumb down the rules accordingly.
1. Don't be a dipshit.
2. Lurk for a while to learn about the people on the boards.
3. Be respectful of members that are more well established and liked then you, or chances are, you'll get your ass reamed.
4. Don't be a dipshit.
5. Realize that your opinions mean jack shit to anyone around here if you can't even use correct punctuation.
6. Grammar and spelling are a big thing on these boards.
7. There are a great many people on these boards who are smarter then you. Don't sass them. Take any insults you may recieve in stride, and learn from them, which leads me to rule #8:
Don't be a dipshit.
Anyone have anything to add?

Why exactly have you chosen to troll EC anyway ?
i remember when i first made a profile on here a while ago under the name ckyadam, i lurked and lurked, yet never posted. I didnt like the screen name, made manjusri and started posting like a regular.
i saw nothing wrong with that.
most of the boards i was heavily involved in are on gamers.com and the major one i was on is closed down and has been closed down for about a year. It was called the NLLO Manjusri fucked around with this message on 08-06-2004 at 01:34 AM.

To this:

This one time, at Manjusri camp:
i dont know maybe the rules in the message board universe have changed since then.
I am not aware of a single set of rules in the "message board universe." Each board is operated by someone else who has their own rules of message board etiquette. Sometimes they are shamelessly stolen by other boards, but they are usually changed to fit the flavor of the local board.
So, as someone said before:
quote:
Lurk before posting. You should get a general feel for the community before you come barging into it. We will not change our behavior to suit you, and any insinuation to that effect will probably result in a demonstration of what will change to suit your delicate sensibilities.
Then there's:
quote:
yet i do not understand, ive been on many many many message boards and all of them have exercised the great right of free speech.
The Right to Free Speech only works when you own the medium used or are exercising that right in a public place. Just because you can access this forum from your own home does not make this a public place. Just because anyone can lurk and read this forum does not make this a public place. This forum is owned by someone other than you and he has the right to determine what the rules are and whether or not you are overstepping those bounds.
Got it? Now, read the rules again.
