I was happy.
Studying this month and taking it again as soon as possible (I think I signed up for the September one).
I dont really care though as the 31 on the act made people think the sat was a fluke.

What was the breakdown? That's a pretty surprising score, I would have figured you for somewhere in the 1400s.

670 Verbal 660 Math.
I was aiming for 1450, but I hadn't touched a single SAT book previous to that and was hopped up on caffeine (for some reason I took three no-doze during the test. I'm not really the brightest)
When I get done with my next test it should be somewhere in the 1400s. I think actually studying will help. I got Kaplan's "SAT 1600" - it's really good about giving help on how to deal with the harder questions, which were all I missed. From practice tests I've taken for fun, it seems to have helped me a ton. Vorbis fucked around with this message on 07-20-2004 at 02:53 AM.

Nah, that passed. I've had somewhat of a personality transformation where that sort of stuff doesn't really bother me.
Besides, most of my test scores end up ironic somehow, like just barely missing a certain point or threshhold. No reason to get upset over the same thing repeatedly.
But I got a 32 on the ACT, so I always put that number first on my college apps.

I never took it after High School.
I got 1400 on my first shot (730 math 670 verbal), and never took it again. If I'd gotten any lower, my parents would've made me take the Kaplan prep course (thus sucking up my summer), so once I got the scores back, I refused on principle to put any further effort into the SATs.
on unrelated news... how many people actually took the ASVAB <if thats what its still called> i was talking to Baj about it a while back and we had a dedicated day to take all the tests in it and we filed into the cafeteria and took the first 15min test... then got excused to go to class.. like 1 test out of 25? 30? hehe
*shrug* was funny to me..

What'd you end up getting on the SAT? I'm just kind of curious. I should get into my uni fairly easily based on my score. Minimum to get into ASU is 1040, and I ended up with an 1170 on the first try. I'm planning on going back and taking it again a couple times before the end of my senior year of HS.
Aren't they changing the SAT this year? I believe they're adding a writing section, and the test will be worth 2400pts. You may want to find a revised minimum score.
But, I did recieve honour every year in HS that put me on the "Ontario Scholar" list. Which means dick all. I got a medal though.

the 2005 SAT (starting in March) with the written section will be up for consideration by colleges starting with students graduating 2006.
Students of '06 will be able to have both versions of the test considered by their college. Starting with the class of '07, the new SAT will be the only one taken for consideration.

I sucked massively on the math part for both SAT and ACT, so I got a 1290 and 28 respectively.
