2005 Chevrolet Cobalt SS
This looks be be my favorite car that's under 20k right now. Maybe some day I'll be able to buy it

Meh. It looks like every other uninspired rice burner out there. Not to mention it is woefully underpowered.
I would much rather have one of these.
1) 205hp for a coupe is not woefully underpowered.
2) You seem to have forgotten how to tell numbers smaller than $20000. That number in your link? Yeah, it's not a number smaller than $20000.
!! the car you linked to only has 215hp. WTF are you smoking? Waisz fucked around with this message on 06-29-2004 at 04:13 PM.

Roll the dice to see if Azizza is getting drunk!
205HP is underpowered for any car that is supposed to be a "performance" car.
And I am aware of the price difference. I just said what I would get if I was in the market.
while keeping its weight.

Azizza: Notice he was talking about a price range. I'd rather have a Bentley. diadem fucked around with this message on 06-29-2004 at 04:31 PM.

from a few of the articles I read, cars are going to look weirder and weird in hopes that a niche market will find them "cool"
Though the new Shelby DOES look nice.

ie the 2005 Mustang? Looks like the bastard child of the current and one from the 70s-80s.

Although I didn't see anything about how much it will weigh, I'm sure it will be quite light. The Dodge SRT-4, while being ugly as sin, can blow away cars that cost 3-4 times as much with 2k of underwarrenty mods from MoPar. And without them it's a drivers race. It 'only' has 240hp, which also achives racing engine status for it.
The Mini Cooper S and Mini Cooper Werks are also insane little cars. Weighing in at just over 1 ton, and coming with 160hp and 210hp respectivly, they're one hell of a handful in a little package. That's coming from a 1.6 liter engine. The Mini S starts at 25k or so IIRC, and 30k for the Werks.
These little cars might not fit in the traditional sports car segment, they certainly can give the traditionals a run for their money. While being wrong wheel drive and using "cheap power" from turbo/superchargers, they move like hell, and can be tossed easily through corners.
I'm honestly quite interested in seeing these horsepower wars develop. It will help put a slew of cheap turbo parts out for me to adapt to my car I plan on getting it to produce as much power as these new ones on 1.8 liters. At 2600lbs 200-300rwhp will move like hell.
Although I do like that Chevy SSR(?) mini truck.

The 2005 Mustang looks good. It's just that my anti-Ford and semi-anti-Chevy (What? I'm a Pontiac guy, stfu.) stance prevents me from saying "That's a bitchin' ride.".Although I do like that Chevy SSR(?) mini truck.
I'm holding my breath for the 2006 Mustang SVT if it comes out.
