I love that game
Metroid: Zero Mission is cool, as is Final Fantasy Tactics: Advance.
Parcelan suggests Shining Force, definitely.

Just don't get one of those SP's where the controls look like that old NES pad. We hates 'em, we does, and we don't even have one.
I was actually thinking of getting one. I love NES.
Ahem.
M:ZM is indeed an awesome game, with plenty of metroid replayability. Once you get a basic line through the world down, you can finish it at 100% in less then 2 hours.
Golden sun, is, of course, a must. Yeah, it's old, and the sequel is out already, but it's still fun, and has a great story. I haven't picked up the second one, even.
If you fancy time spent in the sun, try Boktai. The game pak has a little light sensor that picks up sunlight (And only sunlight! I tried a full UV lamp, and it didn't work) and does things in game, like light up areas, charge your solar gun, stun certain enemies, hide some, and the like. It's kind of a balancing act.. Finding the right amount of sun so that you can do things ingame, but not too much so that you don't get burned, and neither does the game pak (It has a built in warning system if it starts to overheat.). One mistake they made was releasing it in the fall of last year, when the sun was on it's way out in terms of strength.. They should have made it a spring release, would have gotten a lot fewer returns.
Oh, metroid fusion is good, too. But it doesn't have as many cool things in it as ZM.

Golden Sun all the way.
Golden Sun 1 and 2 rocked.
And I didn't think Golden Sun was the bee's knees, really. It cuts off in the middle of the sory so you have to buy the sequel. Gives me this feeling they didn't bother to finish the game.
Final Fantasy was fun - I would suggest AGAINST Sword of Mana. Or Rayman Advance.

But, but.. the gameplay was fun.

They finished the game. TBH, the final boss in the first one was insanely difficult. Maybe I didn't level enough or whatever, but, yeah. And it didn't say to me "lol ur gonna buy the second game cuz we r money hos lolz!", it said "This adventure is finished; a new one begins in GS2.". I don't see anything wrong with that.
Were you dissapointed with LOTR when you found out it was gonna be three movies instead of one? Would you have been more dissapointed if they just called them LoTR (With no subtext), and left you with a "To be continued!" at the end of each one instead?
I just hope they release Zelda II soon. I loved that game.

I bought The Legend of Zelda for the GBA. Fun little nugget of nostalgia, but there are two problems with it:It's an exact port of the NES version, complete with slowdown and the lack of a save function that doesn't require you to die first. It costs $20, which is probably about $10 more than it's really worth. Especially given how short it is. I just hope they release Zelda II soon. I loved that game.
Hit start, then hit up + Select.

I felt like it was abrupt SPOILER: You had to get 4 things, but the game ended after 2. At the point that happened, there was no announced sequel. That was like whaaaaat? Like they cut it off in half. And there's a difference between a duology, and a sequel.
Granted, but they wanted to see how well GS played in NA before announcing a second title. Everybody knew that when Peter Jackson took on the LoTR project that it was going to be good as hell. Nobody knew if GS was going to play well to the american market.
I think they wrapped it up nicely, though. It may have ended abruptly, but you defeated the final dudes, and it was already the end of a MASSIVE quest.
I still want number 2, though.

If you like RPG's, Golden Sun is good... but the first will feel half-finished, until you play the 2nd. There are always Breath Of Fire 1 and 2 if you can find 'em.
If you like tactical RPG's (Like Final Fantasy Tactics, or Disgaea) then I would VERY HIGHLY suggest Shining Force - Resurrection of the Dark Dragon.
Fire Emblem was good, but overall I love SF more

There's a Dragon Warrior for GBA???
Well, if you can find it, that is. It's one of the less common GBA games.

Golden Sun

I think its a pretty good little game in the fact that it doesn't take as long to do things as it does in Disgaea or the original FFT. Great boredom killer.

Anyways, I've yet to find a Gameboy Advance game that has managed to keep my interest.
And I skimmed the thread really fast, so I'm also not sure if anyone mentioned Sword of Mana. Thats a fun one. Basic, since its a gameboy remake, but fun.

Sword of Mana was absolute crap.

Well shit. And I already beat the game, too.
I didn't like FF:Tactics Advanced at all, but if you haven't played Final Fantasy Tactics, then it might be pretty good.
After playing Final Fantasy Tactics, it felt like a dumbed down, goofier version with a worse story. Which is kinda sad, because FFT is like 6 years older than it.
I reccomend a Tetris of some sort, as any handheld system without some sort of Tetris or Columns game is useless.
I haven't played any of the other games for Gameboy Advanced, except like, Ogre Tactics (or whatever it is called), and I didn't really give that game a chance.

Agreed on every point. Also, I forgot to mention Link to the Past/Four Swords and most of the NES Classics Series (Super Mario Bros, Legend of Zelda, Excitebike, Donkey Kong, etc..)

Best Buy said Shining Force wasn't out yet (wtf!) so I had to order it via EBgames. Decided to preorder Tales of Symphonia while I could, too.
Had to buy Golden Sun off of Ebay because NO ONE carried it. If I like it enough I will get the second game.
I feel so weird spending all this money on games.
And there is no such thing as "spending too much money on games".
Oh, and Game Crazy blows. I preordered Shining Force there, they said they wouldn't get it until the 11th (It was out on the 8th at gamestop! THOSE FUCKERS!)
