Well... at least they got the year right this time....
And of all the weekends as this. I was listening to his speeches from the 40th anniversary of D-Day just this past weekend. This weekend marks 60 years since D-day.
His speech after the Challenger exploded also had me in tears. He had great speech writers and wasn't afraid to change his own speeches when his writers tried to tone things down.
He was a man of the people. We'll miss you Ron...
Even with the scandal over the Iran-Contra deal towards the end of his administration (man...I was like ten or eleven then), he was a cool guy. Always kinda reminded me of one of those cool old grandfathers.
And, as much as I like Dubbya, Reagan was the last really cool Republican. Even G.H. Bush wasn't as impressive.
