Thus I am considering the following:
First: Limiting Blue Side of the Moon to 1 Main and 1 Alt char per player.
Second: Creating a second Supergroup for all other alts.
Before I do that I need to run a rollcall of characters to figure out who belongs to who, and which characters are mains, and which are alts.
I know some folks characters, but not which is your main and which is your alt, so I'm going to list EVERYONE'S characters here. Could you please identify which characters are yours, which is your main, and which is your primary alt (if you have more than one). If you have a friend who is a member of the SG but doesnt read these boards, please identify their characters as above.
Also note, if your name is listed in YELLOW, it has not been logged in for at least 10 days. Please advise if it is still an active character.
PLEASE NOTE:
This is limited to the Blue Side of the Moon SG at the moment. Please do not post your character names if you are not part of that group at this time (do not confuse the kittie any more than she already is...). There will be a later thread to organise secondary alts into a new SG, and thus take new members into BSotM. Your cooperation is appreciated.
Thank you.

Do you play on Guardian?
Do you have one (or more) characters in Blue Side of the Moon?
If in doubt, check your character selection screen for Guardian server and compare it to the list.
Might I suggest that Falaanla is one of yours? Unless someone else is playing "funny buggers" and using your name...

As far as I know, no characters have been kicked to date (unless it was done by someone other than me). The only characters that have left the SG are those that removed themselves, or were deleted by the player because they were being remade (and in most of those cases they were re-added anyway).
If you think you were kicked unfairly, can you please advise me PRIVATELY who did it so i can follow up. I will be limiting invite/remove priivledges once then "clean up" is completed.
Not angel. Thats me, and I never play that char.

The SG's been full for a while now, before everyone who was getting CoH got it and everyone had 6 alts in the SG. I always just kicked the one that hadn't logged in within the longest time to add someone new when necessary, with the statement that if it's a real character and not a forgotten alt, they'd be easily re-added.

I've only kicked out those who asked.

Please leave attempted humor at the door. I am trying to do a serious review of the numbers here (and this is the only way I can do it). There are plenty of other CoH threads to play comedian in..

Both of these are ok.
For the record, the SG Officers are Myself, Drysart, Trillee, and Led. They will be the only ones in future who can add/remove members to the SG.
All the rest of my chars have been un-SG'ed. Khyron fucked around with this message on 05-26-2004 at 12:33 AM.

Axe of Hell and Captain Carrot are my two characters. Axe started as my main, but now, I've been playing both equally, so treat both as main.
Another thing, you dont need to ask someone to kick you. You can leave a supergroup willingly There is an option on there.. its called the candylike red button on Supergroup window that says "Quit" ;D
Just a few thoughts to help you all with your guild management. A shame they only allow so many people within each supergroup.

Now, thats a good plan.. But I also like the idea of other SG's for the alts. When people stop playing thier main for whatever reason for a while, and play one of thier alts more often, they can simply swap out thier main and thier alt between the primary and secondary SG's that way the primary SG has the most players online at the same time, and the secondary SG can be there for those people who "MUST HAVE ALTS IN THE GROUP!"
And i also tend to think that well.. even tho it IS an EC SG... just being an EC member shouldnt mean you can join..

And I was all like 'Oh yeah?' and Synjari was all like:
you may as well put the 1 main and 1 alt rule into effect. It will clean up alot of mess.
Yeah thats pretty much what I have decided to do (given the numbers currently).
Khyron made the suggestion of the second SG for "secondary" alts etc, and that will probably go ahead too once we know which character is what. At this stage I'd figure that since he suggested it, Khyron can be GM of that SG if he wants it. if he wants me to help, that's fine too.
It's just that the CoH playerbase in EC (and thus the SG) grew a lot quicker than I thought it would, and so the neat, orderly plans I had for the SG originally have kinda been overthrown by the rapid growth. This is a little "spring clean-up" to get it back to manageable size again.
If I could get the gall back to play Lanithare, I would. It's just that grouping is so difficult sometimes.
Depending on how things go, Remove Lanithare and Drakon for the time being. I completely forgot that the both of them are in the SG. I'll have to play Drakon a lot more to flesh him out and see if he's alt material.

Point one: I agree, and is what i'd like to see happen. Also leads to..
Point two: My original plan was that the SG would be for people that play extremely frequently, thus enabling folks to be able to quickly find a group (and also for the high end Task Force Missions when they are fixed). People are not beholden to only finding members from the SG though. It just makes it easier. I also plan to have a mix of both "casual" and "power" gamers in the SG. But yes, being an EC member won't (in future) guarantee you automatic entry into the SG. The Second SG may be used as a kind of "apprenticeship" Guild.. this is open to discussion when it comes closer to being set up.
I plan to have the SG open to non-ECers as well (provided that they aren't out and out assholes). We already have a few non-ECers in the group (two of Nae's gaming buddies, and also a player that myself, Sentow, and Gadani grouped with earlier today). I see no reason to restrict membership to ECers only personally. Provided the player is active and contributes to the SG by helping out other members there's no reason why a non-ECEr cant be in.
HOWEVER, EC folks may have a little more "pull" at becoming a member over a non-ECer. I am drawing up some "bylaws" for the SG, and "promotion" to the SG from the "apprentice guild" may become something that the officers discuss and vote on for each candidate in future.. (I'm open to suggestions for bylaws)
1 main character. At most, one alt.
That should be it. No "apprenticeship guild" BS, it'll cause you a shitload of drama in the end that is NOT worth it.

I can testify to this. Grave Wisdom on the Rathe had a fucking lot of problems with their apprenticeship guild. I left that guild.

Secondly,
Can we get back on track here a little?
Yes the suggestions and comments are great, and I'm taking them all into consideration... but other than the "1 Main, 1 Alt" rule nothing has been decided other than trying to figure out a list of who is what character.
When that's all completed, I'll open up a new thread for poeple to put in their $0.05 (adjusted for inflation) about what they think should or shouldn't be in the SG rules and so on.
At the moment though, I'd like to get things done one step at a time.. it saves me getting too confused.
By all means, PM me if you think you have some good ideas for the SG. But please for the moment could we just get the roll call completed first?
Thank you.

For the record:
As at 3.40pm AEST, out of 75 names total:
- 26 names have been accounted for as Active accounts (this includes my 2 chars and 1 char of a non-ECer who was added today)
- 4 names have been listed as candidates for SG removal.
45 names remain to be identified. Abbikat fucked around with this message on 05-26-2004 at 01:43 AM.
I'm not gonna have a real alt in the SG, mostly cause i haven't decided on one yet.
and Daisho is a real life friend of mine, who doesn't post here, but he's probably going to be doing a main switch to Blacksamvara, who was invited today.
In the comics, not all heroes get along. They would not be in the same SG, but they work together towards a certain purpose. Which would be reflected here. It would keep the SG's down to a managable size, and the way I have in mind to work it, it would remove the requirement for an apprenticeship SG kinda drama queen bullshit people are worried about.
Those of you who read comics, know about Groups like, X-Men, X-Factor, X-Force, New Mutants, all that jazz. All related in some way (Xavier), and while not always together, working to the same ends, and at times, characters change back and forth between the teams.
So, we keep the Evercrest theme going here, only have several small SG's instead of one large one. Have a lower end character SG, for characters from levels 5-15. Nobody joins before 5, and at 15, you get bumped up, AUTOMATICALLY to the next SG, The only exception to this, would be the officers in the SG, and those who wish to wait a bit for others to catch up to them. Nobody at the proper level can be refused admittance to the next group.
The next SG, would be the general populace of EC, I think. This would be the automatic bump-up group. The reason for it being for level 15+ characters, is because you would be less likely to have many level 15+ alts you never play.
Now, for the elitist bullshit.
Other SG's in the ECSG alliance, will be formed, by people who are online at the same times, or play together often, and such. People in the same level range, or whatever. They get together, and form a group, also under the Ec flag, that is thier little group. They can pretend to be as elite, or better as they want. Who cares.
The idea here, is that if you dont like a certain person. (As is the case with me) you do not have to be in the same SG as them, just to play with the folks from EC. If you dont like how the SG is being run, you can break off, and form a new team, under the EC flag, and run it however you wish.
I'd like to see everybody stay together, and run together, and chat, and bullshit, and have fun. But I'd also like to see everybody be able to have thier SG run thier way.
And well.. we'll never run out of space in the Sg, if there are many SG's about. And the Drama Queen bullshit? HAVE FUN WITH IT. Want to join a certain EC team? ROLEPLAY (omg, he said rolesplay) the move to the new Sg, if the members accept you, of course.
As for the Noob SG, for the moment, we can fill it with all the alts from BSotM. I'll be happy to step up and run it. (Or, step down and run it, however you see fit) And when the alliance shit goes live, we'll take it from there.
So gimme some feedback here.
