Well I decided I needed to talk to her about it since she is involved in the Party and things like this can come back to bite you and those around you in the ass.
I approached it as gently as possible. She broke down in tears and told me about the whole situation and what led up to it. Needless to say my opinion of certain people I knew about from her past is even lower than before. And I didn't think that was possible.
We went and talked to our Chairman who is also our friend and she offered to leave and not do any more work with us. We of course told her that wasn't an option and that if the issue came up we would handle as best we could then.
I have a great deal of sympathy for her and a lot of hatred for some people. All in all I can't say it has been the best of days but at least it ended on a semi-good note.

Seems like if the situation was that bad, and whoever involved in it went even lower in your eyes, that age wouldn't be a factor to them.
