But Vin Diesel as Riddick worked very well I thought. I might very well watch this film 
A bunch of evil demonic bugs which have a horrible weakness to natural light happen to evolve on the least friendly planet imaginable. Meanwhile a prisoner who just happens to be able to see in the dark crash lands on the planet just as an event that occurs every six years(or however long) where the planet goes dark and the evil bugs come out to kill.

I hated that guy. He was so annoying. He was supposed to be a big bad ass that could take Riddick to the limit and was the only one who ever caught him, but there was no comparison between him and Riddick. Vin Diesel even acted circles around the guy playing him, and not even the most ardent Vin Diesel fan can pretend he can do anything other than grunt, shout, and look sexy on screen.(Which is what makes him such a good action star! 
)
