I should have had my license a year and six days ago, but no. My parents were too lazy to spend the money earlier. Oh well, at least I'm finally getting it. I just hope to God I don't fail it because if I do, I'm being forced to pay for the next driving test.
Anyways, wish me luck, because knowing in the condition that I'm in now, I'll need it.

But that's not right. I shed a tear for you.
...'cept I hit the curb when I was told to park at it, which is, of course, an instant failure. Took it again a month later and passed with ease.
It's no big deal. And heck, you have an excuse. Just get some sleep before you go the next time, you'll do fine.
My parents paid for the first test, and they said that if I failed it, I pay for the next test. Since I made the mistake of failing, and having the chance to do so again, I have to take the responsibility for it.
I was so comfortable during the whole thing. I wasn't nervous at all by the time I got out on the road. My driving was smooth and easy.
So my lesson I learned today: Too much relaxation is a bad thing.
It sounds to me like you had bad luck this run, nothing more, nothing less. You'll get it next time, I'm sure
Though paying just to take the test is stupid.

I failed my first driving test too. Was the parellel parking part... I thought I was parked ok, but the tester said to keep backing up... keep backing up... keeping going... so I did... and I just barely tapped the flag that was supposed to represent the car behind me. Failed.
Most states don't make you do the parallel parking thing anymore. Just like most states don't check to make sure you know how to correctly park on a hill.

4 times to get my G2 (can drive alone but can't have any alcohol, you can only have as many people as seat belts in your car, can't drive from midnight to 6AM) - $40 CAD each time
3 times to get my G (can drive with very, very little alcohol in your system) - $75 each time.
I'm the only one in my group of friends who has a clean record

Which is weird, since hills and parallel parking are still all over the place.

That would be paying for the license/tabs.
And a driver's test here is $20. $70 for a license. JooJooFlop fucked around with this message on 04-18-2004 at 03:12 AM.

No no no no...You should have to pay for your license when you've successfully completed the test. You should have to pay for a replacement of your license if you lose the one you had. You should have to pay to get your license back if it's been taken away for some reason or another. You should have to pay for your license plate. You should have to pay for your insurance.
Paying to take the test, however, is stupid.

Yes but they're not ongoing costs unless you break them constantly.

Yes, they're very nice.
But hey, it's a learning experience. Need to renew it in August too, gotta get my 21 version. ^_^

Holy shit....
My Test, I only had to pay the $10 fee for filing, and my Licence only costs $20 for 6 years... Which is due again this year. But yeah, $20 and it lasts 6 years...

Better too relaxed than too tense. If you're too tense, you'll stress too many details and inevitably thusly plant the seeds of your own failure. Don't second guess everything. It sounds to me like you had bad luck this run, nothing more, nothing less. You'll get it next time, I'm sure

It's even more stupid when you hear that the Driver Examiners have to fail a certain amount of people to meet quota.
