I admit, I saw it. And what's more, I enjoyed it. Alright? Wasn't the best Fantasy-type movie, but it didn't seem to take itself seriously at a few points, so it was pretty excusable in my book. I also found myself liking the romantic parts... -_-

But all that's not important. What is? Anne Hathaway. Mmm.

Was she the princess in "The Princess Bride"?

No...

That was Robin Wright Penn.

Anne Hathaway was in the Princess Diaries.

She would have been five years old if she was in that movie...

The only connection is that the male lead from The Princess Bride was the evil uncle in this movie.

The horribly, horribly cliche evil uncle.

I read the book about... oh, 5 years ago.

Decent kid's book.

Movie will be ok, but I wont see it in theatres.

I'm reserving judgement on it. It's nothing like the book at all. The cliched evil uncle doesn't even exist in the book. As an adaptation of Ella Enchanted, it will suck. I can tell that from the trailer. But as a neat little fantasy movie, it looks pretty cool, and I'm looking forward to seeing it.

As a note, for the FanBoi's, Anne Hathaway is currently looking for a decent movie role that will allow her to do several nude scenes because she wants to leave behind the stigma of the "Pretty Princess" that she has been put into from movies like the Princess Bride, and Ella Enchanted. She has said she wants people to let her grow up. So she figured best way to do that was to loose the goody goody image.

Another win-win situation - I'd love to see her naked.

Just got back from seeing it. It was a very cute, light hearted comedy that pokes fun at alot of fairie-tale/fantasy movies and stories.

I give it two cookies up

OMG I HATE IT!!!! Nothing like the book at all. Added characters, changed story line, made it like modern times, I give this movie a -99999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999. Sorry but if someone is going to make a movie based on a book they should at least get the story right. I for one will never see that movie and again and try to discourage others from seeing it. Don't waste your money.

Uh... anal retentive much? For a hardcore fanboi of the books maybe, but that doesn't make it any less of a good movie otherwise. I don't think the majority of people have actually even READ Ella Enchanted.

Saying the movie flat out sucks, and giving it a shitty rating just because it isn't like the book is pointless.

There was much rejoicing when Batty said this:

Yep, Ella Enchanted is a young adult novel by Gail Carson Levine.

I have mixed feelings. I hate hate HATE when a good book is changed when it's put to film. However, much as I thought EE would be a good book, like The Time Machine, it would have been a bit more boring taken to film as it was. I liked The Time Machine, even though it was nothing at all like the book. Still bothered me that things were changed, but have you ever read that thing? It would have been like watching Castaway, only a hundred times worse. I think the same thing would have happened with EE. So as much as I hate seeing changes, I think changing at least some things were necessary. Probably not as much as they did, but it wouldn't have made a good movie the way it came.
