Effective March 4th, changing your display name will also reset your username's age color. You'll immediately become magenta upon changing your name, and it will change colors over time as if you had just registered.

Oh snap.
Maybe you could give people one grace change to get back to their normal names? Or impliment this in a week and reset everyone's counter?

Seems kinda harsh to the people who were just changing their name for a whim and don't want to keep it that way.

If I had changed before you announced this (But still, like, today), would I have become magenta?

Alright, per popular demand, any name changes made before March 4th (but not on March 4th!) won't incur the color change. Additionally, until March 4th, the 3 month timer has been dropped to 48 hours.

So, even if you just changed your name yesterday, the option will open up again in time for you to change your name back to whatever you want it to be, and if you change your name today, it'll be the only change you have time for before the color changes kick in. This gives everyone one chance to set their name to something sane without penalty.
