Brave adventurers and denizens of EC, I pose to thee a quest of utmost importance!

There exists in this world a most sacred tome of sacredness, a shining jewel amongst games! Lo, and this most sacred and holy of games is rare, and indeed, it comes in three parts!

My quest to thee, and I shalt join thee in this endeavor, is to find this jewel of a game, in all three of its parts, and to aid me in procuring the most sacred knowledge of its use! The reward for such a successful quest shall be unlike any seen before!

* Translation :

I need help finding Shining Force 3 (All 3 scenarios) as well as a working Sega Saturn Emulator. I wish to put all of this on the FTP, and will reward the person who can find this for me! Said reward MIGHT even be monetary, depending on the results of this quest.

A good place to look for the emulator, is http://www.zophar.net. A good place to look for the ROMs are P2P file sharing systems like KaZaA and whatnot.

Anything would help at this point. I've been searching for this stuff for YEARS with little to no success. My searches on DC++ have turned up only SF3Scenario2.rar and only one result (The host of which is ALWAYS BUSY! ).

I've had no luck so far with that one, but I'll give it a try again. Hell I was lucky to find Shining Force CD that halfway works.

Just a note to all who participate in this search :

Shining Force 3 : Final Conflict, is the gamegear handheld game. It is NOT what I'm looking for

The one that I'm looking for comes in 3 flavors.

Scenario 1 was released in the US in english, and in Japan.

Scenarios 2 and 3 were released only in Japan, but there are many projects translating it into english.

Applying the translation patches is the easy part. It's actually finding the games, as well as a way to run them, that's proven to be the difficult part...

Hay, 3 sounds like it's badass.

I've found ISO's of Scenario 2 and Scenario 3! Japanese, of course...

I need to find an english copy of Scenario 1, and a working emulator.

I had no idea anyone had even managed to get a fullspeed Saturn emulator running.

Last I heard, there were some REALLY shaky ones...but nothing all that worthwhile.

Saturn wasn't bad.

Now, Sega CD! THAT was horrible. Considering it was an add-on (For like, 200 bucks!) to a sega master system.. and had sucky games anyway! Though there was a Lunar game.. And some "Navigate through a sewer" one.. sewer shark?

No, the SMS NEVER had a CD Addon. The Sega Genesis had the SegaCD addon (and there were 3 versions of the unit as well) and featured games like Lunar: Silver Star Story and SewerShark.

Connection refused on the .torrent BUT! I have an alternate, very slow, source... we shall see tomorrow.

As for the saturn Emu, I've gotten several good leads that GiriGiri may be my best bet so far. I'm waiting for one of the ROMs to finish downloading (Going on what, 12 hours now?) before I say for sure.

Rest assured, good folk of the forums, I SHALL attain my goal, and place the results somewhere where ALL can benefit from its greatness!

Update : Shining Force 3 , Scenario 3 has been ATTAINED! *joy*

Still need 1 and 2. I was downloading from DC++, but the users who were hosting left.

What's the name of that web-based P2P that you pay for? The one waisz talks about downloading all of the anime from?

I've got streamload. They don't have search built into streamload. You have to find someone who advertises that they have a file available (via a message board, web page, etc, then request they make it available to your account.)

If you find someone offering it, point me in the direction, and I'll download it via my streamload acount.

I haven't found such a kind soul, however Nik mentioned that Scenarios 1 and 2 were on eMule (Rosa checked earlier, it wasn't there, so whomever hosted 'em musta just recently logged on), so I asked him to download.

I've also been scouring the DC++ hubs, and found Scenario 1... unsure if it's jap or english, tho.

Sadly, the info I was told about a translation patch for Scenarios 2 and 3 was incorrect, however there IS a script you can read while playing, which is almost as good

Well, I was able to get Giri Giri working (Pain in the ass emulator to use, but since it's still in development, I guess that's to be expected).

Now that it works... that opens up a whole fuckin' new WORLD of fun games to emulate. SF3, Shining Wisdom, Panzer Dragoon...

235 megs is just a little small for a CD image, though.

I'm going to try it, but I expect to be needing a larger copy to play the WHOLE game... especially if it was failing CRC checks.

Well I got the image off of Emule so it could be something else. I myself haven't tried cause I can't get Giri giri to work.

As for it being too small all the other images on Emule are around that same size.

Of course Scenario 2 is in japanese so I just need to find the translation patch and I'm good.

Using this I have been able play the first scenario alright but like New Age Bane said the text is a little wierd.

There aren't any translation patches yet. Problems with compression making it difficult for anyone to release it.

You can play with the script open, though That's what my plan is to do.
