Well, I just found out, a few weeks after he died, his Grandfather died from a stroke. His mother was so depressed from losing them both, she committed suicide.

May they all rest in some peace in death since they couldn't have it in life.
I dont get it.
He got an XBOX and died..and..somehow thats bringing everyone together?
It doesnt seem to thrilling or have a point to me.
He was dying and his family could not get him the gifts he wanted. So out of nowhere a person who had never met him bought him those gifts. THis person didnt' know hinm from adam yet went out of his way to help him. And the help didnt' stop there. He was offered medical help from people who knew they would not get paid for it. People all over the world started offering him support and help. Not because he asked for it, but because he needed it. And they cared.

... you're so red dotted.
The kid was a huge paintball fanatic. He posted to the paintball forums about how he wanted to play, but couldn't because of his (I think it was cancer? I dunno) illness. The kid's poor and wanted an x-box for christmas, but couldn't get one due to his family's financial situation.
These paintball guys sent him a full X-Box with wireless controllers, subscription to Live, etc. This dying little kid got his christmas wish from a buncha strangers on a paintball forum. His mom was so happy she was crying while she wrote the thank you to him.
This sounds like a Shakespear play or something.
It's just so sad...
I understand the story and how this little kid had cancer and got an X-Box for christmas and such by an anonymous person, and then died..
Yeah its a sad story and it was nice of that person to give the kid a gift.
But the whole thing just seemed a bit overrated like it was supposed to be a huge deal when it was just a gift, it didnt unite anything.
It was a gift to a dying kid who couldnt afford the X-Box...thats basically it.

Cookies & Cream! spewed forth this undeniable truth:
Thats not what I meant, and I could care less about you Khyron.

Somepeople see it, some don't.
It wasn't just "It was a gift to a dying kid who couldnt afford the X-Box" It was an act of kindness by a group of people. That's how it united people.

Yeah, you're right. I was probably expecting too much from you to understand simple acts of human kindness.

You know the point of the red dot is to ignore the person, not to reply.
Your defeating the concept

True, but I personally like it as a way of saying 'HEY, COOKIES & CREAM! THIS GUY THINKS YOU'RE A COMPLETE MORON!'. Thus, someone who sees lots of red dots, can know that (s)he is an imbecile.
Cheese
If we of EC could have found some way to help her, Id bet my life that at least 5-10 people would send something, and that the thread would break 100 posts giving support.
The foe dot has the benefit of auto-ignore, but functions much the way it does in khys case.
Poor Kid
Kinda hard to find out, and thats the worst part really.
No name to go off of, her IP doesnt say enouph, and she didnt have any offline friends on the boards
