Well, I just got to Vegas since I've been stationed here. I know a lot of you live in the area, so what do you all suggest to do for someone under 21? Specifically, where is Dave and Buster's and where is the closest Best Buy to Nellis?

I've never seen a place called Dave and Buster's in Vegas. What is it? As for Best Buy, we've got a couple in town, but I don't believe there are any in the immediate vicinity of Nellis... Sorry.

Dave and Buster's is an adult Check E cheese's. Arcades, other diversions for the overgrown kid/geek.

The Vegas equivalent to Dave and Buster's is Gameworks.

Ah, okay. That makes sense. Hmm... About the only place that I can think of to match that description is Gameworks, and while it's a great place, their selection of games is rapidly becoming outdated.

The arcade that I tend to hit is the Gameland arcade on Meadows Lane, near the mall. No food there, but it's right next door to a Gamestop, and they've got a good selection of games and they're not too expensive either.

Gameworks is awesome. When I was there in like July, I played this funky old Namco speed shooting game that you played with light guns. You shot at these little targets, and on the last stage you shot a cup and it exploded.

Yeah, that was cool. I set a high score on that thing. I wonder if it's still there.

a flat rate timecard + The House of the Dead 2 + Akimbo = much fun to be had by me.

Well, a lot of Vegas really isn't under-21 friendly, since a lot of things revolve around drinking and gambling. Or at least places that offer that. The concert scene is pretty good and most will let you in if you're under 21. Gameworks is pretty cool. I know Nae and UBT live out on base. The wife and I are waaaaaaaaaay out on the other side of town near Summerlin. But maybe we can see about getting a group togehter and going out to do something some night.

The nearest Best Buy to Nellis is on the corner of Rainbow and Lake Mead, which is actually over near Call

Damn that's a drive just to go to Best Buy, but oh well. I'd be happy to get together to do something, just give me a time and a place.
