I'm looking for legends. Legends of gods or of men. Or anything, for that matter. I'm not picky. Anything you can track down or offer some insight on would be greatly apperciated.

I've always found Norse mythology pretty cool.

I have always been fond of the Japanese legend of the greatest martial artist who lived in the mountain.
Im sorry I don't have a link to this right now, but I will post it the second I find it.

And by mountain, I of course mean Mt. Fuji.

I assume you speak of a book. If that is the case, title and author would do wonders.

Unless you simply said that for the sake of saying something.

Here's a quick Norse one, told in Strider Shortness:

Loki decided to sell Thor's hammer to the frost giants. Thor, when he found out, was understandably pissed. So Loki, under pain of an ass-kicking, comes up with a plan to get it back: have Thor marry this giant. They gussy Thor up, make him real purty, and Loki escorts him. When they get to the bridal feast, Thor eats a whole butt-load and can't talk, which Loki explains as the bride's nerves. When the giant presents Mjolnir as a wedding present, Thor takes it and kills all the giants there. The End.

"Oh," he had added, "and pray thee bless it (a hammer) as well...thou dost know, that one where it explodes undead most explosively and what-not, so that I might get my most righteous smite on."

I've got my fill of Norse mythology for now, anything Eastern European (Slavic) would be good, or Celtic.

Umm I belive he was real, and didn't live near MT Fuji, Wrote a book about swordsmanship, the book of the five rings I think, still was an outstanding sword fighter, had a Two sword fighting style.

That would be correct.. The book is A Book of Five Rings (Go Rin No Sho) written by Musashi Miyamoto and there seems to be an online version of it here

I apologize, I was under the impresion that it was a legend. And thank you for the link.

How many other martial artists lived in the mountain? If he was the greatest that lived in the mountain, but there were only one or two others, that wouldn't be very impressive, would it?
