1d20+14 => Invalid roll syntax
10-14 = -2
15-19 = -4
20-24 = -6
25-29 = -8
30+ = -10
Whatever the result comes out to be is a penalty to all of the recipiant's skill and attack rolls for the remainder of combat, but the penalty can be completley negated if you accept one dark side point. The choice is yours.
Keep in mind that he could have automatically taken a 10 as opposed to rolling, so who knows.. Maybe we'll get lucky and he'll roll a 1 and there will only be a -4 penalty, or maybe he will get a 16 or higher and we'll all be screwed.
Time to find out.
