Since when did one need a reason to celebrate beer?

The landing of the First Fleet... which is to say, the arrival of the first British convicts on Australian soil and the raising of the Union Jack at Port Jackson (otherwise known as Sydney).
If you've ever been to Sydney before, the actual landing site is not far from where the Sydney Opera House now stands, in a small cove now known as Circular Quay (the base from which all the ferries that service Sydney Harbour as public transport, since trains and buses don't mix with water too well )
There are also those who classify it as "Invasion Day", being the day the brutal whiteman began his persecution of the original Aboriginal owners of the land..

Yes, but you never from Midnight Oil anymore, so no one cares what Peter Garrett thinks anyways.

Zigackly!!
Anyway, the majority of Australians couldn't care two figs either way.. Mostly it's an excuse to have a day off (usually a long weekend) and drink a lot of beer while going to BBQs with friends..
(gives the Aussies bunnysnuggles)
