OK, how big of a difference does this make in the quality of the image? My video card is DVI capable, does it make a huge difference?

It's supposed to make a noticible difference as the signal is digital not analog.

Here is one that I'm looking at for gaming:

20 ms response time (which I have read is important for gaming), along with DVI input. AND a good price.

In order of Best to worst.
ADC
DVI
ANALOG

ADC is just slightly better than DVI, the real advantage comes from the fact that Power, USB, and Video signal are all sent on one cable.

DVI is an all digital signal that is a huge improvement over Standard analog VGA. To me the difference is about like what you would see when going from RCA jacks to S-Video on a TV.

and of course Analog needs no explenation. It as served us well for many years. But like the VCR, it is on its way out.

On a Samsung Syncmaster 191T hooked up to a Radeon 8500, I can see a noticeable difference switching from analog to DVI. Text becomes a fair amount sharper, colors seem a bit more pure, and a few little artifacts go away.

By the way, Falaanla, I've heard that some people won't use anything worse than 16ms, but 20 is just a step behind that, so it should still work.

DVI makes a definitely noticeable difference on my NEC 1760NX....

Sextacular monitor to boot, too.

I've read that too. Also read some reviews on Anandtech with game tests and it seems anything upwards of 25 even doesnt seem to really have issues.
