BTW, Liam, it does not prequel the series.
The special was to aire between episodes 1 and 2.
As I understand it, the special had something to do with a child kidnapping... and it wasn't aired due to a child kidnapping in Japan.

They took a break over the holidays but the next translated issue should be coming soon.
