There should be some siginfigance and it should most likely be something that people can use in place of your real name.. I know my default is. I've had the same BBS handle since... god.. 94? Shortened version of it came about in late '95 when I found IRC and it refused the space and excess characters...You must have an identity... being nameless sucks.
