Every time I run either of these, they bring up a Windows Media Player registry key. Why is it coming up and will anything bad happen if I nuke it?

Turn off the option in Media Player to use a unique ID to report usage.

It's an annoying thing.

It's a unique identifier that allows people who have setup their webservers properly 'track' users that access their data.

Generally, disable it as it's not necessary and was generally a silly thing to start with.

if you want to keep it, add it to the ignore list for ad aware
