Note: Due to rules, coding may not start until the 10th. The game is a web based game.

Cookies & Cream! wrote, obviously thinking too hard:
Arr!
Think a cross between risk and settlers of catan with pirates. Played on the web instead of on a board.

Neo-Blindy had this to say about Punky Brewster:
In your previous post you said it could be web based, client/server based, telnet based, whatever... has that rule changed?
It can be anything multiplayer. If you want you can even make a game similar to magic the gathering, have the cards printable, and have people just play with their friends. I don't want to hinder anything creative.
My game is web based.

Neo-Blindy thought about the meaning of life:
Can we add game features not specified in this design document, provided we meet all listed criteria?
humm? You come up with the idea yourself. It can be pretty much anything. You don't even have to tell me what it is when you make it, so long as you provide us with a playable copy on the 1st. You can continue to include features into it after the release date, but be aware come the 1st of next month, people should be playing it or you will be disqualified.
This thread was just about the idea i'm probably going to go with for my submission to the contest. [ 01-04-2004: Message edited by: diadem ]
I get it.
I thought we were all trying our hand at the same game, winner is the one with the best implimentation.
Docks can heal one ship per turn. If a dock heals the same ship two turns in a row, the ship is completely healed. To prevent abuse of this, you may not heal an undamaged ship.
If three or more ships are on a tile, the player may form a fleet. A player can move and attack with an entire fleet using only one turn. A fleet may only move as fast as its slowest ship. When a fleet attacks, every ship in the fleet that can attack the target will attack the target. A ship may use an action to join or leave a fleet. You can only join a fleet if you are in the same tile as the rest of the fleet.
A unit may not move more than once a round.
Ship types will have their names changed to something more appropriate.

Edit: Just spent $508 on VS.Net Professional 2003. The scary part is, that's a good deal. I hope I can install it by the 9th .
Town halls generate 5 gold a turn each. [ 01-04-2004: Message edited by: diadem ]

better get started now. It takes about 4 days to install.
Damn. It's being shipped from CA. Got it off e-bay. That reminds me.... 21 days seems rather short. Think I should make it longer? [ 01-04-2004: Message edited by: diadem ]
