Just thought i'd share with you all an interesting thread I read that helped restore some of my faith in humanity.

Interesting...

A very moving story. I smiled and cried alittle. Thus my belief in the good that resides in all people is re-affirmed.

    Pessimistic, are we?

Can someone just copy/paste it or something?

It works now. Was down for a few minutes there.

And no, the story is about a 13 year old boy with brain cancer who has maybe 6 months to live, not asking for anything, just sharing his joy of paintball on a message board for it, is treated to an act of kindness by one of the Support staff for the boards. He got an Xbox with all wireless stuff, broadband modem, with 1 year of prepaid service, the family computer fixed up, and the support staff guy (who is friends with many doctors in the Brain cancer field) has his doctor friends visiting the boy at home everyday.

I'd point out how silly it would be to give a kid with 6 months to live a year of Xbox Live service, but when you buy the live package for 49.99, it comes with 1 year no matter what.

    Still neat, though.

I'm reminded of last night's Family Guy.. Gumbel 2 Gumbel was the pwn.

Yeah, it'd be such a shame to give a kid hope that he might live more than 6 months. Since doctors' estimations of how long someone will live are always right.
