Ok I wanna re-format my main HD, how do I go about doing so... I'm going to transfer all my 'needed' stuff to my other HD but I want everything off this one. I mean everything, apparently while I'm out my sister gets on my computer and I'm ending up with pop-up porn, which means that if for some reason my parents ever come into my room and a pop-up does occur then I'm fucked... also ad-aware isn't getting rid of them and the 2 virus scan programs I have ran havn't seen any viruses... so I plan on just formatting the sucker and getting rid of it all. I have everything to re-install the drivers and such, but like I said I want this HD decently clean.

Or just boot from your windows xp cd and select the volume, then format it.

What OS are you running? If its XP, its not hard, just pop in your Windows XP CD and follow what it says.

If your running 98, ME **twitch**, well, basically anything but XP, you need to first make a start up disk. You pop it in, 98 I know, will prompt you if you want to start with or without CD rom support, say you want to boot with CD rom support. Do that, type "A:" then type "Format C:" then a long stream of Yes'es. At witch point you will have your C drive reformated. Then do to your CD drive, what ever one it is, E for example, by typing "E:" then type "setup.exe" Windows will then start installing. You should be able to figure it out from there.

2k works from CD as well. Just start it up like you're installing, and it'll ask if you want to format the listed partitions. Just choose the right one, format it, and reinstall. You'll have a clean drive and a fresh install.
