1 - sqrt3 (tan 315 = -1; and the tan(a - b) formula has a positive sign in the denomenator)
Thus:

Also, when I have formulas to deal with, I'll do the first few homework problems with the formulas on a page somewhere deep in my notes so that when I want to refer to them it acts as a deterrent. After the first few, I try to stop looking completely (unless the problems are grouped by formula where a later group requires a different formula, in which case I just start over for the new group).
