But this story isnt about him. It is about similar events, similar charachters, and similar consequences. All taking place about two centuries before Lanys. Anyone at the temple would deny it had even happened once before. Nobody there liked it. They tried to huide it, to cover it up. They did pretty well, until now.
I give to you now the story of Siliddar T'vyl...
Our story begins, as I said, about two centuries before Lanys T'vyl's birth. One-hundred ninenty-eight years to be exact. It was a rather quiet festival of the moon. Attendance was slow when compared to the previous festival. Priestess T'vyl had finally found her partner and brought him to her bedchambers. She was always picky and was normally the last to retire on such occasions. As with the legend of Lanys the male was gone when she awoke the next morning, failing to kill him when she was instructed. Two weeks later while playing with divinations and checking her recently broken hip, she discovered she was pregnant. Flustered and fearing punishment she immediatetly requested for reassignment elsewhere. Some say it was divine luck that got her the job in the commonlands. I'll leave that for you to decide. Within three weeks she had, quite illegally, shared beds with nearly every big strapping dragoon in the camp, as to provide an alibi for her pregnancy. She felt her secret was safe and that none would know of her horrible failure that night...
She was wrong....

of coarse, bandwagons are fun.

At the slight annoyance of her superiors, for loosing a decent priestess from the field, Priestess T'vyl had to return to Neriak and give girth to the child near the end of her pregnancy. Trying to keep busy she kept at her duties the best she could, so she would be thought of somewhat better in light of her carelessness. Nobody but Perrir knows how, but somehow Perrir Zexus, a recently promoted cleric, somehow got wind that miss T'vyls child wasnt sired by anyone at the camp. Perrir asked T'vyl about the father, asking if she knew who he was. She was immediatetly stunned, rattling out several names of "possibilities", just random names that she rembered around the camp. Perrir wasnt satisfied, he did some searching and found that one such name, Dragoon Zytl, had left for another assignment at dusk the day she arrived. Two of the names, K'stan and D'abith were both impotent, strong warriors as they were. Leaving only two warriors left. Something very suspicious was going on. Perrir went to the Tower of the Spurned one day and asked them for a particlar spell scroll he'd had them design a long while ago for just such an occasion. A truth scroll, when used, for thirty seconds you would hear nothing but the truth. If anything you heard was a lie, not only would you know it, but you'd know the truth if the person knew the truth. Rather expensive, but the woman was vieing for the same position he was aiming at. Uncovering a dirty blemish such as this would be particularly helpful to his career.
He had no idea how dirty this spot was...

More later today, I think I've figured out how to tell exactly how the baby was able to live.
Zexus knew how Siliddar came to be, and he made sure that T'vyl was aware that he knew. Finally after sever threats, she caved in. She would pass up the offer for promotion if It came to that, along with several other illicit tasks. Two weeks after the deal was made T'vyl rejected the promotion on the excuse that she needed to raise her child. Although slightly peeved, High Priestess W'selo accepted the declination and gave the promotion to Zexus. Many years later, T'vyl had finished her contract of servitude that she agreed upon in exchange for Zexus' silence. Her child was showing an incredibly affinity to channeling magic and a deep interest in death. Simply sitting and staring at the ghouls that guarded the Lodge of the Dead for hours on end. His path was clear, Necromancy would be his profession, that was obvious.
On the evening that it was announced that Siliddar was to graduate to senior apprentice fifteen years early, Zexus decided to tell W'selo about Siliddars real father. A small celebration was held at the T'vyl compound. Close friends and famly attended. Zexus was making small talk with W'selo, as Siliddar continued tradition and attempted to animate his first skeletal servant. W'selo, not really paying much attention to Zexus was watching with awe as Siliddar broke a fourteen century standing record by a full fourty-seven years. He successfully animated a completly fuctional skeleton. Right under the eyes of not only Xon Quexil, the head Necromancer of the Lodge of the Dead, but W'selo and Zexus as well. The room suddenly went silent as the skeleton formed itself into the familiar humanoid shape, and cackled the usual message that was the sign of a successful animation.
"At your service, Master"
Zexus quickly grabbed W'selo and Siliddars arm's and hauled them out of the room, quickly telling her the childs origin. Quexil followed, wishing to inform Siliddar of his intentions of training him personally. They all went into a side room where Zexus quickly spilled out Siliddars origin, Just as Quexil entered the room. W'selo gulped and ordered T'vyl in the room, made Quexil and Siliddar stay. "Who else knows this!?" she demanded of Zexus and T'vyl.
"None but those in the room Ma'am."
"Good, This would be a huge embarrassment to the church if this got out. The child must be destroyed. His very existence is not of the will of Innoruuk."
Quexil leaped out of his chair and yelled harshly at W'selo.
"NO! I simply cannot allow Siliddar here to be destroyed. High Priestess W'selo, do you realize Siliddar here has broken a record that has been standing for almost fifteen centuries! He flawlessly animated a skeleton a full fourty-seven years ahead of the record! He is too big of an investment to simply throw away because of the means of his birth! "
W'Selo spun around and spat back, "This is the business of the temple. It is unfortunate that you had to overhear this High Warlock Quexil, but this matter is of no consequence to you or your house."
"Need I remind you Miss W'selo, the Lodge takes precedent over the temple. Especially when a member of the lodge is concerned. Back down and lose the attitude, or I will personally see to it that you are removed from your position, by force if necessary. He shows a connection and understanding of magic that neither I nor my predecessor have ever seen in our entire lives. I will not simply stand here and let your guilds pride get in the way of the will of Innoruuk!"
W'selo exhaled sharply, and stood aside. "At least grant me this. His birth is kept a secret, the truth about the boys lineage does not leave this room."
"That much at least I will grant. Siliddar:"
"Yes Guildmaster Sir,"
"You are now to be trained by myself personally, In the morning you will report to my office directly, do not go to any of your normal classes..."
That would be the origin of Siliddar. Later on he eventually killed lots and lots of people, nearly convinced his half-sister to stop her foolish ways and come back into the service of Innoruuk (Siliddar was there in the GM event in Lfay with Lanys T'vyl),and aided the Kromrif in a successful invasion of the dwarves of Thurgadin. Later on in life, his origin still under wraps, he took a false name and settled down in Neriak. He took (see: bought) a wife from a semi-wealthy family with many pretty daughters. Two years later his wife bore twins. One quickly adapted to channeling Innoruuks energy and joined the Temple as a Priest of Innoruuk. The other took to channeling like a brick takes to water, and eventually joined the house of rogues. Both graduated their respective academies at exceptionally early ages. Neither have been told the true story of their father.
Siliddar's mother however was tortured for several years, punished severely, and suspended without pay. Eventually the whole thing blew over and she returned to her duties. After Lanys she was sent permenantly to Freeport to act as a Diplomat/Spy between Neriak and the Innoruuk worshiping humans. She was given a false name and has hated ever attending the festivals in the first place.

Who is Sili's? You never really made that clear, and this is an origins story, after all

Yes. [ 07-07-2002: Message edited by: Maelarr ]
Ok, sorry a little more clarification.
As with Lanys, There was an unknown man at the festival. None of the attendees had ever seen or recognized the man. He never gave his name. In reality he was partial avatar of Innoruuk, sent to create Teir'dal of a greater power and ability then most. Just a normal guy with....well the balls of a god.
Later on The high priestess intent on killing Siliddar is told by Innoruuk exactly what happened.
